While the socials have been quiet, I promise I have been busy!

I’m finishing up in the 2nd year of the Murdoch University chiropractic program in Perth, Australia and here are some of the things I have learned!

🦴Surface Palapation Anatomy
Locating the bones and muscles in the body, while learning basic massage techniques

🦾Biomechanics
Investigating the biomechanics of the joints in the spine and extremities while practicing basic motion palpation

🧬Microbiology, immunology & genetics
Diving into virology, bacteriology, immune responses and common disease mechanisms

🫀Visceral Human Anatomy
Exploring the gross anatomy of the head, neck and torso with a focus on neural structures

🧠Neuroanatomy
Understanding the anatomy of the brain and spinal cord. With an introduction to disease and injury mechanisms

🩺Physical Health Examination
Examining vital signs, the skin, head, neck, CVS, respiratory system, GI, GU, and nervous system

👩🏼‍🔬Biochemistry
Exploring the mechanisms behind human metabolism and building foundational laboratory skills

🩻Radiographic Anatomy
Learning the basics of X-ray, CT, MRI & ultrasound, while applying normal anatomy and identifying traumas. We also began our X-ray report writing skills.

I can’t wait for next year to hop into chiropractic skills, technique, and differential diagnosis. Each year is another step closer to being a chiropractor!

We are happy to introduce the newest member of the Wave PEMF Therapy Team. Abby Dusome completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology at Queens University and is completing her 3rd year of her Doctor of Naturopathy at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.

That being said, Abby has a large appreciation for natural and holistic health practices and feels that PEMF will be a great addition to her services post-graduation. On top of that, Abby is a long-time athlete, playing varsity hockey for Queen’s throughout her undergraduate degree, and she has a love for the gym, giving her lived experience and expertise on athletic therapy and sports.

Although the sunshine is out, head colds seem to be ruining many clients’ weekend plans on Georgian Bay! 🦠🌊

Luckily, Wave PEMF Therapy is known to increase immunity and help reduce the duration of colds and their symptoms (some studies were even done on COVID-19 post-infectious symptoms and had great results!)

After one session last week, and a good night’s sleep post-PEMF, a client’s sore throat disappeared and her sinuses were flowing quickly, which was significantly better than the sinus pressure and congestion she was experiencing the evening before! ☺️

So what does Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy really do in the body?🧍This is the number one question clients are curious about, and for good reason! You deserve to know the effect MagnaWave machines have on your cells.

Primarily, magnetic energy helps to increase cell membrane permeability to allow for a better influx and efflux of ions and toxins to and from cells. This mechanism is known as electroporation.
