Happy Sunday!
It was such an honour that I worked with CAFSQ (ComitΓ© d`Aide aux Femmes Sourdes de QuΓ©bec) by providing a virtual workshop on breast health and accessibility. It was such a success, with 12 Deaf women attending and engaging with thoughtful questions. The event was made even more impactful with the support of a Deaf fluent signer, who translated in both ASL and LSQ.
If anyone is interested in having me present in your area, I would be honoured to do so. This opportunity would expand horizons, as knowledge is a powerful tool that can save lives. The workshop is free.
Given the existing language barriers, itβs essential that we work together to raise awareness about the importance of health literacy and make it a priority in our lives.
As a matter of fact, there are over 300 signed languages worldwide. Many Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals have faced many challenges within the healthcare system and itβs crucial that we address these issues.
Please donβt hesitate to reach out if you would like more information on how I can support you.
I want to express my gratitude to CAFSQ for providing me with the platform to share my journey and, most importantly, to empower the LSQ community with the resources and tools they need to advocate for their breast health.
