Repost from

Halton Women's Place is in desperate need of supplies to help women and children who have escaped abuse and need a safe place to land. This list below is a list of items that Healing Moments Counselling is collecting all month long to donate on October 30th.

If there is anything here that you know you can donate, please consider setting it aside for this ThanksGIVING Drive.

You can drop off at the office. You can leave outside the front door. Just call us so we know it’s there and will bring it in.

Today we celebrate
It is a time to draw attention to the amazing work midwives do for families in our communities.

This year we are extra thankful for all they do in the face of a pandemic to keep themselves, staff and families safe.
Thank you!

Update: thank you THM friends for the overwhelming response! We have lots of people sewing for us and many waiting to get started once materials come in. We have sourced all the gowns we need to keep us and our clients safe! Thank you so much, we are overwhelmed by the support.

The Hamilton Midwives has been unable to source disposable isolation gowns despite our best efforts and we are not sure trash bags are a great solution! Next best thing is fabric gowns washed between visits. If you sew or know someone who does or you have any fabric that you could donate we would be so grateful for your help! Each gown takes about 2 meters of fabric and we wear these over our clothes so they don't need to be heavy. An old bed sheet would work!

If you are willing to sew, please send us a PM so we can assign you a size. Let us know whether you need fabric.

If you have fabric to donate please send us a PM so we can arrange pick up.

Thank you! Please share with your friends and family in Hamilton.

Edit to add: the photo above is not of The Hamilton Midwives. It is of nurses down in New York fighting the good fight. We wish them all the best.

I am available for postpartum support during our social distancing practices.

This may look like; video chat for newborn care and feeding tips, video chat for listening support and company, and dropping off groceries, diapers, wipes and other baby care items.

Please see my contact info in my bio and on my website.

You don't have to be lonely when spending time alone. Please reach out for support!
