We are excited to announce that we will be offering Psychotherapy at Bronte Naturopathic!
Paula Porter is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and has completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. She has a diverse background that uniquely positions her to understand the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Her focus is on women in the perimenopause transition and beyond. This life stage can be challenging for women as their bodies and hormones change, coinciding with changing relationship dynamics, questions about personal meaning and goals, potential caregiving responsibilities, and future planning. It is also a life stage when women are more vulnerable to depression and anxiety.
Paula's passion for health and wellness led her to become a Nutritionist working with women who live with autoimmune conditions. She has worked in an integrative health setting for eight years, supporting individuals and families in making sustainable lifestyle changes, managing chronic illness, and cultivating overall well-being.
With a genuine and caring approach, Paula is committed to assisting clients in reaching their full potential. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice, along with a deep understanding of the challenges people face. Paula believes in the power of therapy to facilitate healing and growth. She provides a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their concerns, develop coping strategies, and overcome personal obstacles. Her goal is to empower clients to find more peace, joy, and meaning in their lives.
As a person-centered therapist and genuinely kind human, Paula believes in tailoring treatment to meet each client's unique needs and goals. She draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, and Narrative Therapy. This allows her to create a personalized approach that addresses the specific concerns and challenges her clients face.
Psychotherapy is eligible for coverage by extended health benefits if you have them. Check your policy to confirm.
Paula offers a free phone or virtual 15 minute consult session where you can ask any questions you may have about getting started. Click here to book.
