Countryside Midwives are pleased as punch to celebrate Midwife Sabrina Blaise’s 15 year anniversary working with us! Sabrina is that quiet competent midwife whose words may be few but her wisdom and knowledge abounds. Our practice and our clients in the Mount Forest area are so fortunate to have Sabrina taking care of our local families. We hope we get to enjoy her sense of humour and endless kindness for many years ahead. Congratulations Sabrina!!

Countryside midwives and staff are so happy to congratulate midwife Cathy Kipp on 25 years in practice with us! Cathy came to us from her training in the UK and along with her husband and three children, have made a home here with Countryside. Cathy brings so much compassion, love and brilliance to her role both as a midwife but also as a practice partner. We all know who to go to if we need help with schedules, numbers, ideas for practice and everything in between. She is well loved by so many in the community she has cared for and has even cared for women whose mothers had Cathy as their midwife! Thank you Cathy, from the bottom of our hearts, for everything you do. Give a shout out if you know and love Cathy Kipp!

Midwife Michelle from Countryside along with other Midwives, students and clients met with MPPs at Queen’s Park to demonstrate how midwifery care improves access, strengthens communities and offers real solutions to Ontario’s primary care challenges. The message was clear: Midwifery is essential, and the time to invest is now. Thank you to the MPPs and supporters who attended and contributed to these vital conversations. With winter weather on the way, we want to share a few reminders to help keep everyone safe.

Please ensure your laneway is plowed and accessible for our visits. During severe weather, both clinic and home appointments may need to be rescheduled.

For births, there may also be times when the midwife closest to you will attend instead of your usual midwife, to ensure the safest and fastest response.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep both clients and midwives safe during winter conditions.
