Even when the weather isn’t quite ready for outdoor adventures, there are still plenty of ways to have fun together indoors. 🎨

Bruce and Carol spent some time getting creative by colouring a mural, adding their own colourful touch and enjoying a relaxing afternoon. Sometimes the best way to take the edge off a chilly day is to grab some markers, sit down with friends, and let your creativity flow. 💙

What’s your favourite indoor activity when the weather keeps you inside? Let us know in the comments! ⬇️

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month 💙 This month holds a special place for all of us at CLM. Every day, we have the privilege of supporting incredible individuals with developmental disabilities as they live, work, and take part in the community in ways that matter most to them.

This post highlights just a few of the amazing individuals who make our community so special. Their personalities, talents, and friendships are what truly make CLM what it is. Without them, Community Living Manitoulin simply wouldn’t be the same. 💙

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is also about continuing the conversation around inclusion in all areas of life, from education and employment to recreation and community involvement. Everyone deserves the opportunity to belong and thrive in their community.

💬 We’d love to hear from you, what does inclusion mean to you? Let us know in the comments!

Good Morning! The birds are chirping because the first day of spring is finally here, and we couldn’t be happier about it! 🌷☀️ After a long northern winter, there’s nothing better than seeing the sunshine stick around a little longer, hearing the birds again, and knowing warmer days are just around the corner.

Spring on Manitoulin means fresh air, lakeside walks, beach days, and getting back outside to enjoy everything our beautiful island has to offer. Our individuals are definitely looking forward to more time outdoors, soaking up the sunshine and making new memories together. 🌱

We’d love to hear from you! What’s your favourite spring activity? Let us know in the comments! 🌸👇

Spring is in the air, and that means it’s almost time for our 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt! 🐣🌷

On April 4th (weather permitting), we’ll be hiding up to 500 eggs around our property for the individuals we support to enjoy a fun afternoon of searching, laughing, and celebrating Easter together.

We’re currently looking for treat donations to help fill the eggs, things like chocolate eggs, marshmallow treats, and low-sugar or no-sugar chocolate options are greatly appreciated. 🍫

Please note that this is not a public community event. The egg hunt is organized specifically for the individuals supported by Community Living Manitoulin.

If you’d like to help make this day extra special, please reach out to Adrienne (705) 665-8262 or drop by our office at 6266B ON-542, Mindemoya ON. Every little bit helps bring smiles! 💛

Today’s the perfect excuse to wear a little extra green, share some laughs, and maybe even keep an eye out for a leprechaun or two around the Island. If anyone spots a pot of gold, just remember… the real treasure around here is the friendships and community we get to share every day. 💚

Love was in the air in Little Current! 💙✨

Clarissa enjoyed a sweet night out at the Love, S*x & The Blues show at the Hotel Conference Centre with her date, Roger Howard. From great music to lots of smiles and laughter, it was the perfect setting for a fun night together. 🎶

With support from DSPs Jena and Sylvie, Clarissa was able to enjoy every moment of her evening out. Because everyone deserves the chance to get dressed up, go on a date, and enjoy a great night out! 💫

March looks a little greener around here 💚 and for good reason, it’s Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month.

At CLM, awareness isn’t just something we post about once a year. It’s in the everyday moments. It’s in adapting supports so someone can try something new. It’s in cheering each other on at programs. It’s in making space for voices to be heard.

Many individuals living with cerebral palsy also live with intellectual disabilities, and we see firsthand how important the right supports, advocacy, and community connections truly are. Across the country, organizations like the Cerebral Palsy Canada Network continue to strengthen inclusion through education, peer support, and meaningful opportunities that help people grow in confidence and independence.

What matters most? That people are seen beyond a diagnosis. That abilities are recognized. That barriers are challenged. And that community is built together.

This month, let’s move beyond awareness and into action, learning, listening, and making our spaces more inclusive in big and small ways. 💚

👉 Comment one word that comes to mind when you think of inclusion, let’s start the conversation.

March 8–14 is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Week 💙 Did you know Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world? Around 90,000 Canadians are living with multiple sclerosis, that’s about 1 in 400 people. Most are diagnosed in the prime of their lives, often between the ages of 20 and 49.

MS looks different for everyone. For some people with intellectual disabilities, navigating a diagnosis like MS can come with added barriers, from accessing health care to advocating for the right supports. That’s why inclusive, person-centred care and strong community connections matter so much.

Let’s use this week to learn something new, start a conversation, and stand alongside those living with MS. Share this post to help spread awareness, or drop a 💙 in the comments to show your support.

This weekend our community lost someone who truly made the world brighter. 🤍For more than four decades, Keith was part of our agency family. He first joined our Supported Independent Living services in 1980 and later became part of our Residential Program in 2016. Over the years, he became much more than someone we supported, he became a friend, a familiar face in our community, and someone whose presence left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

Anyone who met Keith will remember his incredible warmth. His smile and enthusiastic greeting had a way of making you feel like the most important person in the room. 😊 He had a personality that could light up any space and a joy for life that was truly contagious. ✨

Music and dancing were some of his greatest joys, and he could often be found enjoying local festivals each year, soaking in the music and the energy of the community he loved so much. 🎶💃 He also spent time working in our agency’s consignment store when it was open and took pride in being part of the team there. In quieter moments, he enjoyed puzzle books and crosswords, always keeping his mind active. 🧩

He was also proud to participate in Special Olympics, embracing the spirit of teamwork, determination, and fun. 🏅 Across many communities on our Island, simply hearing Keith’s name would bring smiles to people’s faces. He had that rare gift of leaving people better than he found them.

Keith was the youngest of five brothers and deeply loved by his family, who cherished every moment they spent with him. His connection to our agency was also a special one—his mother was one of the founders of our organization, advocating passionately for supports for her son and for others in our community. Because of her vision and advocacy, and because of people like Keith, our agency exists today. 🤍

We also want to recognize the staff who supported Keith over the years and the individuals who shared a home and life with him. The relationships built through daily routines, shared laughter, and countless moments together were incredibly meaningful. He will be deeply missed by those who knew him best and shared in so many parts of his life.

While his loss will be deeply felt by staff, friends, and community members near and far, we choose to remember and celebrate the extraordinary life he lived. Keith brought joy, kindness, and laughter to so many, and his spirit will remain part of our community forever.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and all who loved him. 🤍
Thank you, Keith, for the joy you brought into our lives. You will always be part of our story. If you knew Keith, we invite you to share a favourite memory or kind message in the comments as we celebrate the incredible impact he had on our community. 💬✨
