A brief stand in solidarity against violence will take place on Friday, March 20, at 4 pm in the Kavanagh Courtyard (between the Library & Clark Hall). Everyone is welcome to attend, and we invite attendees to wear purple in solidarity against intimate partner violence.

The event is open to all ages, and non-perishable or monetary donations for the Food Bank will be accepted instead of entrance fees. For more information, contact Ashley Feduniw at reflectionarttherapy@gmail.com. We hope to make this a monthly drop-in, so stay tuned for future dates!

I'm so pleased to share that thanks to the generosity & kindness of local Minnedosa businesses, entrepreneurs & mums, I can now offer several complimentary sessions to a Minnedosa area mum OR couple to enable access to support that otherwise wouldn't be possible.

This will operate on an honour system where I trust if you're reaching out it's because you do not have the coverage or means to access private counselling otherwise. I won't be checking.

The intention of the funds raised were to support Maternal Mental Health so the criteria is as follows;

1) As these funds were raised locally, you must reside in Minnedosa or surrounding areas.
2) Have no other means/coverage to access maternal mental health support.
3) A mom or couple trying to grow their family, grieving the loss of a pregnancy, currently pregnant or walking through those postpartum or new mom/parent days.
4) Available virtually on in person (babies absolutely welcome to attend too!).

If this sounds like it could be a good fit & support for you or you & your partner, please reach out to me at melonia@downtoearthcounselling.ca
To keep things fair, I'll operate on first come, first serve.

Thank you to the generosity of those who made this happen 🫶

Feeling overwhelmed? Kim Moffat shares a simple strategy to help when stress feels out of control.
"Often many of us hyper-focus on stressors we can’t control. Zeroing in on one or two small, manageable goals each day can give us the traction we need to get unstuck. Talking to someone who is empathetic and understands your situation can also go a long way in working through any situation." – Kim Moffat

Inspired by Jon Haidt (The Anxious Generation, NYTimes bestseller) whose dedication to decreasing "screen time" and cellphone fixation in children and teens-- this is why we teach what we teach through expressive arts therapy. It's about re-awakening the senses in restorative ways and we have a responsibility to "re-embody" through expressive practices. This inspiration is at the core of the Bilateral Movement Desensitization Resensitization live webinar series beginning next week and of course, the Expressive Arts Therapy and Neuro-Affirming Practices webinar series also starting next week. See the comments section for the links to find out more.
