Miramichi Optometry Optometry clinic - we treat your eyes like there is a person attached. www.MiramichiOptometry.ca

Dr. William Prince started his optometry practice in Newcastle in 1947. Upon graduation in 1988, Dr. Greg MacDiarmid started practicing with Dr. Prince and two other optometrists. This lead to the purchase of Dr. Prince's practice in 1990, a partnership that lasted until 2005 when Dr. MacDiarmid bought out the assets of his partners and continued as a solo optometrist to this day. Dr. MacDiarmid enjoys practicing and has no specific retirement plans at this time.

Astronauts primarily wear Silhouette Titan Minimal Art (TMA) glasses frames while in space, particularly on NASA missions. These Austrian-designed frames are chosen for their unique, “space-worthy” engineering, which includes being screwless, hinge-less, and rimless, weighing only about 1.8 grams. Our clinic has carried these frames for over 20 years. Astronaut Christina Koch is seen here wearing a Silhouette. In addition to Artemis II, they have been used for corrective eyewear and sunglasses aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Concussions, a frequent event in sports as well as everyday life, may soon be diagnosed by an objective test rather than the subjectivity available today. A former UWaterloo hockey player, Andrew Cordssen-David (former Bathurst Titan) has helped developed a saliva test that can detect chemicals released into the brain after a traumatic injury. For more information, see link below.

HeadFirst, a company at Velocity, the University of Waterloo’s startup incubator, has developed a way to test for concussions using a simple saliva test. The process provides a rapid and accurate way to detect mild traumatic brain injuries. The startup’s technology advances the traditional concu...

With the departure of the Salvation Army from Miramichi, many of our families who have depended on this support through the holidays have been left stranded. Please read through the attached document and try to help where you can, whether personally or through your business. Thanking you in advance.

Our office recently donated to this effort. Our staff member Amanpreet (R) is shown presenting Shirley (L) with a cheque.

The office had fun today, while providing health care. We had a frog, a MacBeth witch, Ken (left Barbie home), a devil, M&Ms, a Woodstock holdover, and Count Dooku. Thanks to the children who stopped in to see us for treats.
