Women’s wellness clinic.
Did you know that regular self-breast exams can help you become familiar with your body and notice any changes early?

Here’s how often you should be doing self-exams:

👩‍⚕️ Normal Risk:

* Once a month — ideally a few days after your period ends when breasts are less tender.
* If you're post-menopausal, pick the same day each month to make it a habit.

🔬 High Risk (family history, genetic predisposition, etc.):

* Recommended once to twice monthly, but with additional screenings like clinical exams and imaging as advised by your provider.

💡 Remember: A self-exam doesn’t replace mammograms or clinical exams — it’s one important part of knowing your body.💗

Notice

Horizon and Vitalite Health Networks are urging the public to carefully consider their healthcare options before heading to Emergency Departments, due to the high volume of patients seeking medical care.

The networks are prioritizing the treatment of trauma and critical care patients, warning that individuals with non-urgent medical issues may experience prolonged wait times. To help individuals make informed decisions about their care, the public is encouraged to explore alternatives such as consulting a pharmacist, reaching out to their primary health care provider, visiting an after-hours clinic, utilizing virtual care options like eVisitNB.ca, contacting Tele-Care 811, or considering the Emergency Department. In the event of a medical emergency, individuals are advised to call 911 or proceed directly to their local Emergency Department. Additionally, the Health Networks emphasize the importance of self-screening for symptoms of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses before entering any Horizon facility. Those with symptoms of a respiratory infection in the past ten days or who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last ten days should refrain from visiting healthcare facilities.

Stop waiting in the Emergency Department, Walk-In Clinics, and for access to Primary Care. eVisitNB connects New Brunswick Nurse Practitioners and patients online via secure video, phone, and messaging for common illnesses, injuries, COVID-19, and mental health concerns. At the Chatham After Hours Clinic we will continue to ask patients/guardians to wear masks for their one on one visit with the Physicians.
Masks are to be worn to enter the clinic.

Effective Monday, Oct. 30, 2023, masking will be required in all patient-facing/clinical areas of Horizon facilities, including hospitals, community health centres, clinics, addiction and mental health facilities, and any location where patient care takes place.

Medical-grade masks must be worn by all health care workers, patients, social visitors and designated support persons (DSPs) at all times in patient-facing areas, including all inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care clinics and emergency departments (including waiting areas), and any other clinical setting.

Masking will not be required in non-clinical areas, such as lobbies, hallways, or cafeterias. However, medical-grade face masks remain available in all Horizon facilities to anyone wishing to wear one at any time.

Signage will be put in place to help patients, DSPs, and visitors understand when masks are required and when they are optional.
