Notice
Horizon and Vitalite Health Networks are urging the public to carefully consider their healthcare options before heading to Emergency Departments, due to the high volume of patients seeking medical care.
The networks are prioritizing the treatment of trauma and critical care patients, warning that individuals with non-urgent medical issues may experience prolonged wait times. To help individuals make informed decisions about their care, the public is encouraged to explore alternatives such as consulting a pharmacist, reaching out to their primary health care provider, visiting an after-hours clinic, utilizing virtual care options like eVisitNB.ca, contacting Tele-Care 811, or considering the Emergency Department. In the event of a medical emergency, individuals are advised to call 911 or proceed directly to their local Emergency Department. Additionally, the Health Networks emphasize the importance of self-screening for symptoms of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses before entering any Horizon facility. Those with symptoms of a respiratory infection in the past ten days or who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last ten days should refrain from visiting healthcare facilities.
Stop waiting in the Emergency Department, Walk-In Clinics, and for access to Primary Care. eVisitNB connects New Brunswick Nurse Practitioners and patients online via secure video, phone, and messaging for common illnesses, injuries, COVID-19, and mental health concerns. Virtual Care by Appointment
