Over the years we have seen different websites and pages copy and post our obituaries from the funeral home site. The information we post is on behalf of the families and is written by the family or the funeral home staff and every notice is checked by the families before posting, and we do not change published obituaries unless asked by the family.

We would like to make people aware who visit these sites that are not controlled by the funeral home that we can’t edit the notices. For update information and notices and where you can share the obituary, please go to the funeral home controlled websites. Jardine Funeral Home & Crematorium is looking for qualified, dedicated, caring and service driven individual.

Job Requirements

•Recently completed or currently enrolled in an accredited Funeral Service program

•Experience handling sensitive situations in a professional manner

•Excellent work history and good driving record

•Ability to lift 75lbs+

•Good written and verbal communication skills

•Attention to detail

•Self-starter and team player

•Performs a variety of tasks during funerals and visitations to assist funeral director and ensures that services run smoothly as planned

•Direct calls to appropriate team members

•Maintains a friendly attitude while offering assistance and guidance to all persons entering the location

Position For: Full-Time Funeral Director/Embalmer Apprentice

Location: Miramichi NB

Qualified candidates will have completed or be currently enrolled in an accredited Mortuary Program.

Working closely with an experienced staff, apprentices will develop new and enhance their existing skills with the number one goal of providing a premier level of service to our families before, during, and after their time of need. Apprentices participate in and learn all facets of caring for the deceased to include removal from place of death , transfers, embalming processes, body preparation, dressing, casketing. The candidate will work closely with funeral director staff to make funeral arrangements with families handling all issues with the utmost dignity and sensitivity. Good communication skills are an asset. Working smoothly with other licensed embalmers and funeral directors on staff is required. Additional duties will include working alongside the staff for office tasks, general building maintenance, and keeping the auto fleet in top condition in addition to other duties as assigned.

Must be available for on-call, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Jardine Funeral Home Ltd owns its own crematorium, which enables us to provide a seamless service at a more affordable pricing to all those wishing to include cremation as a part of their service.
If it is the wish of the family or was the wish of the deceased they be cremated, as opposed to earth burial, we can make all the necessary arrangements and are familiar with all the procedures involved in preparing and completing cremation.

Jardine Funeral Home is seeking to fill a part-time, permanent position as a Funeral Director’s Assistant.
The successful candidate will work with our funeral service team, under the supervision of a licensed funeral director, both in the funeral home and at remote locations, in the provision of services to our client families.
Responsibilities will include assisting with visitations, funeral services, interments, as well as at Churches and Cemeteries. You will assist in the set-up and conducting of these events, greet visitors, and guide participants as required, including working closely with bereaved families. In addition, the role may also include providing support to administrative staff with phone and desk duties, light cleaning and maintenance in our building, and driving and cleaning company vehicles.
This is an on-call position that routinely requires evening and weekend shifts.
Requirements for the position are a mature and professional manner and appearance, and a demonstrable ability to serve the public with both discretion and compassion. The successful candidate will possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record and be capable of safely lifting 25 kg (55 lbs.).
Some form of experience working with the public is desirable. Experience in the funeral service sector would be an asset.
The position offers a competitive hourly rate and an allowance for work clothing.
