The Lab - Movement & Sports Med. Comprehensive injury management for the athlete in sport and life

05/01/2026

This time of year can set the tone for the whole season.

Spring means more field time, more volume, and a faster jump in intensity. Soccer, lacrosse, rugby, baseball, and softball athletes are all getting back into the demands of real play, and if that shift is not managed properly, it often shows up in performance issues or injuries.

At The Lab, team training is built around that transition. We help teams prepare for the load of practices, games, and the pace of the season so athletes can stay ready and keep progressing together.

A better golf swing starts with a body that can handle what your coach is asking.

At The Lab, golf performance is built around collaboration. We work alongside your coach to understand what your swing needs, then train your body to support it. More rotation, more speed, and better control all come back to how well your body moves and performs.

If you’re dealing with pain during the season, that’s handled on the clinic side. If you’re focused on building speed and staying strong throughout the year, that’s where the gym comes in. Everything is connected so your treatment and training actually carry over to your game.

Book your session and let us help you achieve YOUR perfect swing.

Spring training load adds up fast.

More running, more field sessions, more time on your feet, it all catches up quickly. Whether that looks like soccer, lacrosse, baseball, or getting back into outdoor runs, the jump in volume can leave your body feeling tighter, heavier, and harder to recover between sessions.

Massage therapy at The Lab is built around what your body needs during that shift. It can help manage soreness, reduce tightness from added mileage, and keep movement from getting more restricted as practices and games pick up.

This is not just about downtime. It is about staying consistent, recovering properly, and keeping small issues from turning into time away from training.

The best training plans start with knowing what actually needs work.

At The Lab, personal training begins with offseason testing so athletes can train based on their sport, their position, and their actual performance profile. Every athlete is different, and the physical demands of one role are not the same as another.

We measure key performance markers like speed, agility, power, strength, aerobic endurance, and anaerobic capacity, then use that information to guide training that makes sense for you. It gives every session more purpose and helps athletes focus on the qualities that carry over to the field, court, or ice.

Book your offseason testing and get a training plan built around real data.

A lot of golf injuries show up at the start of the season, not because of one bad swing, but because the body goes from very little play to multiple rounds a week too fast.

After a slower winter, that jump in volume can lead to compensation patterns, tightness, and pain that starts small but builds quickly. By the time many golfers come in, they’re already trying to manage symptoms just to stay on the course.

Getting assessed early can help catch movement issues before they turn into something that affects your whole season.

Off-season is a great time to clean things up, but osteopathic care matters during the season too.

At The Lab, osteopathic care helps athletes deal with movement restrictions, tension, and imbalances before they turn into bigger issues. In the off-season, that can mean preparing your body for higher training loads. In-season, it can mean keeping up with the stress of practices, games, lifting, and recovery so you can keep moving well.

We look at how your body is functioning as a whole, not just where it hurts. And when needed, that care can connect into rehab or training so it carries over beyond the treatment room.

Whether you’re getting ready for your season or already in it, osteopathic care can help keep your body on track.

More space matters when your team is getting ready for outdoor season.

As teams start moving from indoor sessions to the field, training needs to match that shift. Sprint work, change of direction, and full-speed movement can’t be done properly in tight spaces.

At The Lab, team training is built with enough room to actually move. Athletes can open up their stride, work on acceleration, and train in ways that carry over to the field.

It’s not about fitting training into a space, it’s about having a space that fits how you train this time of year.

Book a team session and see how your athletes can prepare for the season ahead.

At The Lab, osteopathic care does not stop after treatment. It continues into guided rehab, where movement is built, tested, and progressed with purpose so the work done in the treatment room carries into the gym floor.

It is an approach that helps progress last, not just feel good for the moment.

Reach out to book an osteo session and learn how this process fits your rehab.

Trying to decide between sports massage and traditional massage?

They serve different purposes. Sports massage is a more focused treatment for people who train hard, lift, run, or deal with activity-related tension. It looks at muscle imbalances and movement patterns to support recovery and performance.

Traditional massage is more about slowing down, relaxing the full body, and helping calm the nervous system. It’s less focused on correcting movement and more focused on helping you unwind.

Same service category, different treatment goals.

Book your next massage at The Lab and pick the option that fits what your body needs right now.

Training changes from athlete to athlete, and the space matters more than people think.

At The Lab, the setup supports different types of work in one location. That could mean personal training, team sessions, or rehab-based exercise with input from a clinician. Instead of sending athletes between separate places, training and treatment can stay connected.

The equipment also plays a big role. Keiser functional trainers and cable machines make it easier to scale sessions based on the athlete, and Swift Performance Systems adds measurable data through sprint timing and force plate testing.

That means training can be shaped around what the athlete needs right now, not forced into the same format every time.

When treatment needs to reach a specific structure, accuracy matters.

At The Lab, ultrasound-guided injections help target the right area with more accuracy than relying on anatomy alone. Using handheld ultrasound, Dr. Ali Hazari can see exactly where the needle is going in real time, including in areas like the rotator cuff.

These injections are not used in isolation. They are part of a broader plan that can include rehab, training, and ongoing care, all working together to support recovery and performance.

Speak with your provider about a referral to learn whether this option makes sense for your treatment plan.
