1. Get rid of the pops, juices, Gatorade, red bull. Theyâre absolutely killer for blood sugar, hormones, gaining unhealthy body fat, they destroy the liver and cause imbalances in the gut microbiome. I suggest finding a good electrolyte powder like Re-Lyte or LMNT to add to distilled water or natural spring water
2. Wheat products and bread are cheap to make, relatively cheap to buy the food industry wants us loaded up on bread. Sugar makes us gain weight, not Fat. Industrialized wheat/bread is not the same as it once was. They add oils, thickeners, emulsifiers, preservatives and synthetic vitamins. Plus if itâs big brand bread itâs probably laced with glyphosate and other chemicals. Stick to fruits and veggies for carbs!
3. Pizza/Hot dogs are extremely processed! While there are healthy variations, unless itâs completely homemade, the alternatives are probably just as bad. Try making a hearty chilli on game night and if you NEED bread, make a fresh sourdough and donât over do it.
4. Pastries are also bread products but usually have a much higher sugar and fat content. Fat and Sugar together is man made and itâs extremely addictive. If we start off our days with a muffin, doughnut, bagel and butter, expected a anxious, hungry and irritable day. If you need a snack look to fruits, nuts and seeds
5. No soy for boys. Soy for women can also be a problem if over eaten leading to mood imbalances and inconsistent menstrual cycles. Soy mimics one of our s*x hormones, estrogen which can lead to unwanted side effects in both s*xes. Best to limit soy or say no!
6. Deli meats contain known carcinogens and like hot dogs/pizza, eating them is like throwing gas on the fire of inflammation. They destroy the gut and may lead to âleaky-gutâ. Source out grass-fed, wild caught and pastured proteins
7. Alcohol- do I even need to talk about this one? Replace with kombucha!
8. Processed Dairy is allergy city! If you can source unpasteurized dairy, do it. Otherwise Kefir, Coconut Kefir are the best options
9. Deep Fried = Brain and Gut destroyer. There are some many other ways to cook food! Slowly & lightly is healthiest
