This week, we proudly celebrate , recognizing the incredible nonprofit workers who help Ontario thrive. We’re proud to join the Ontario Nonprofit Network in celebrating the people and organizations that strengthen our communities every single day.

Across the province, nearly 850,000 nonprofit workers serve, connect, and support Ontarians every single day. With more than 58,000 nonprofits contributing $65 billion to Ontario’s economy, the impact is powerful and deeply rooted in care.

At Peel Senior Link, we see this impact firsthand. Our team works every day to help seniors live independently and with dignity in the communities they call home. Meet Jeanne!

At 87, Jeanne has lived a life full of family, faith and giving back. Jeanne shared 66 beautiful years with her late husband, treasuring memories like their very first proposal when she was just 17.

After his passing, she needed extra support to live independently. She joined Peel Senior Link in February 2021, and PSL has been here for her ever since.

Jeanne loves reading, crossword puzzles, sports, and her lifelong dedication to helping others. She’s an active participant in the PSL Client and Family Caregiver Committee, sharing her wisdom and advocacy with fellow seniors.

Her words of wisdom?

“Love will get you through everything, and never go to bed being mad at anyone.”

Through PSL, Jeanne receives personalized care with respect, kindness, and compassion. From assistance with daily routines to a friendly conversation, staff like PSW Maureen and supervisor Nisa have become a source of comfort and trust for her, and peace of mind for her family.

Jeanne’s story is a beautiful reminder of the impact of compassionate, professional support for seniors who wish to maintain independence and a fulfilling life.

Hunger and food insecurity can affect anyone at any age.

We're grateful to partner with the Food Banks Mississauga to expand food support for seniors in our community. Through the Food Bank 2 Home Delivery Program, this partnership will help reach 50 additional households.

By adding food deliveries to buildings where Peel Senior Link already operates, more seniors who are most at risk will receive food delivered directly to their doors. We're very excited for and proud of this collaboration and the incredible difference it will make.
