Klaus and Sigrid moved from their home in Toronto with a large backyard to The Shores Luxury Apartments for a downsize and to be closer to their son in Port Credit. They took advantage of the availability and selected an 8th floor suite with a beautiful terrace, north and west exposure, and a water connection. This allowed them to still have their vegetable and herb garden, just like at home—even in an apartment. Their garden thrived through summer 2025, and they were kind enough to share their harvest with neighbours and team members.

This summer, The Shores of Port Credit was proud to sponsor the On The Verandah music series at Benares Historic House. Friday evenings throughout the summer were filled with jazz, swing, and local talent, set against the gardens and history of Clarkson Road. We always love supporting the local arts because it gives us a chance to meet new talent and see some familiar faces—both from The Shores and across the city. Proceeds from the On The Verandah series supports the Friends of the Museums of Mississauga, an organization committed to helping more students experience our local heritage.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made these concerts a highlight of the season.

The Shores is a proud community partner of The Southside Shuffle, Port Credit’s Blues and Jazz Festival. Together with our sister Verve community, we had the pleasure of meeting festivalgoers, sharing information, and serving fresh popcorn to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We were lucky enough to be set up right beside two incredible musical stages, which made for the perfect backdrop. It was a day filled with great weather, great music, and plenty of fun for all!

One of our Memory Care residents, John, came to the lobby with his wife and daughter, tie in hand. They were on their way to his granddaughter’s wedding, but there was one small challenge—the steps to tie the perfect tie had faded from memory. His family, unsure of how to help, was wondering if anyone on the team could step in. Enter Bradley, our Community Relations Manager (or should we say Human Relations Manager), who stepped forward and put his skills to very good use! Before anyone could look up a YouTube video, Bradley was done and John was ready to walk into his granddaughter’s wedding with style.
