🌟 Holiday gatherings bring people together, but they can be stressful for families managing food allergies. With treats everywhere and busy events, accidental exposure becomes more likely.

Many children live with food allergies, and preparation matters during the winter season. Keeping epinephrine close and having open conversations with hosts can make celebrations safer for everyone.

➡️ Do you ask about ingredients before attending events
➡️ Do hosts label dishes or share what was used

At MyAllergyAid, we encourage families and communities to create safer, more inclusive celebrations this season. Learn more at www.myallergyaid.com

🎒 Allergy education can be made accessible to children without having them feel intimidated or confused. Research shows that when learning feels engaging, kids become more confident in managing their allergies.

In one study, 88 percent of children said they enjoyed the workshop they attended.
Medical play stood out as the favourite activity for 62 percent of participants, helping them understand their allergy in a calm, hands-on way.

When children enjoy the process, they’re more likely to absorb key safety skills and feel comfortable speaking up about their needs.

At MyAllergyAid, we focus on creating learning experiences that support both confidence and safety for every child with food allergies.

🚨 Schools practice fire drills every month — but most staff have never practiced how to respond to an allergic reaction.

Research shows that 43–72% of school staff have no training on managing anaphylaxis, even though 1 in 5 allergic reactions happen at school.

Anaphylaxis can be just as urgent as a fire, yet most schools aren’t prepared when it happens.

➡️ Has your school ever practiced an “allergy drill”?
➡️ Would every staff member know how to respond in those critical first minutes?

At MyAllergyAid, we’re working to make allergy preparedness as standard as a fire drill — because every child deserves a safe learning environment.

💡 Many schools across Canada still don’t stock backup EpiPens.

Yet, research shows that most allergic reactions in schools happen in children whose allergies were previously unknown.

When a reaction strikes, every second counts — but too often, schools are unprepared.
It’s time to change that.

➡️ Does your school have spare epinephrine available?
➡️ Are teachers trained and aware of where it’s kept?

At MyAllergyAid, we’re changing that to make schools safer for every child.

This December, we mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and stand with SMILE Canada in working toward communities where every child feels supported and included.

Newcomer children with disabilities often face barriers in healthcare, education, and everyday community life. Creating environments that welcome every child begins with small, intentional steps taken by all of us.

This year’s theme, “Together for Every Child,” is a reminder that inclusion grows when we choose actions that make our spaces safer, more accessible, and more responsive to diverse needs.

Our commitment: Supporting newcomer children with disabilities by promoting safer and more inclusive spaces for those with food allergies and other medical needs.

Every step brings us closer to a world where every child belongs.

💡Did you know nearly 1 in 3 allergic reactions at school happen in children with no known allergies?
That means the first reaction can strike without warning — and without an allergy plan in place.
In those moments, hesitation can cost precious time.
Does your school train staff to recognize the signs of anaphylaxis and respond immediately?
Preparedness isn’t just for known allergies — any child could be at risk.

💡Did you know most teachers have never received food allergy training?
For a child experiencing an allergic reaction, a quick and confident response can mean everything. Yet many staff aren’t prepared to act.
Let’s change that.
Has your school provided allergy response training? Do teachers know what to do in an emergency?
Every classroom should be ready. Explore our teacher training workshops at www.myallergyaid.com

💡 Did you know that up to 60% of kids with food allergies are bullied because of them?
For many children, the fear of teasing can be just as real as the fear of a reaction.
Awareness isn’t only about safety — it’s about empathy.
Let’s make every classroom a safe place to breathe, eat, and belong.

🚨 Launching the First-Ever School Incidence Reporting Tool for Food Allergies! 🚨

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the first-ever tool designed to empower parents and improve the safety, equity, and inclusion of children with food allergies in schools: The School Incidence Reporting Tool.

For too long, parents of food-allergic children have lacked a systematic way to report incidents that jeopardize their children’s well-being. From unsafe practices to issues of inequity and exclusion, these experiences often go unnoticed and unresolved.

Our School Incidence Reporting Tool bridges this gap by giving parents a voice and schools an opportunity to address systemic gaps.
What the Tool Does:
✅ Empowers Parents to document and report incidents in real-time.
✅ Tracks Trends to identify areas for improvement in school policies and practices.
✅ Promotes Inclusion by highlighting issues related to diversity and equity in food allergy care.
✅ Drives Change by turning lived experiences into actionable insights for advocacy and policy.

At MyAllergyAid, we are committed to creating safer environments for children and fostering collaboration between parents and schools to ensure no child feels left out or unsafe.

Parents, Educators and Advocates: This tool is for YOU. Together, we can create lasting change in how food allergy safety and inclusion are managed in schools.
