The client and significant others are welcomed as members of the program planning process, along with our staff and other experts.

Mind Forward Brain Injury Services is a non-profit charitable organization that provides rehabilitation and life-long supports for adults living with acquired brain injury. Mind Forward Brain Injury Services (previously Peel Halton Dufferin Acquired Brain Injury Services) is a non-profit charitable organization, completely funded by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOH & LTC), the Missis

sauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) and Central West LHIN to provide community based rehabilitation and life-long support for adults whose lives have been touched by acquired brain injury. Since incorporating in 1992, Mind Forward has been committed to offering services to all individuals touched by brain injury (including clients, family members and caregivers) based on an assessment of the individual’s needs and through a team approach to service planning and goal-setting.

It all started with one bold idea…

On April 9th, we celebrated the legacy that built Mind Forward by honouring our founder, Carol Williams, and longtime Board Chair, Brad Goegan, with the official naming of 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 (formerly West) and 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 (formerly TRSL).

Twenty eight years. That’s how long Jim has been proving that a brain injury doesn’t write your ending.

In 1998, a motorcycle accident left Jim legally blind with a traumatic brain injury. But his story was never about what he lost. “Part of my brain doesn’t accept that I have an injury,” he says. Maybe that’s just Jim refusing to let the hardest thing that happened to him become the only thing about him.

Today, he still plays a mean game of pool, beats his buddies at Crayy Eights, and turns to the Blues when things get heavy.

For 25 years, Mind Forward has been in Jim’s corner. And Jim keeps showing us what it means to live well, not just survive.
