What Do We Do? We provide a wide variety of orthopaedic devices which are used to enhance an individuals physical ability to perform activities of daily living. We work with other health care professionals to produce devices that are specific to the patients particular rehabilitation needs. Why Choose Us? We guarantee that all patients will be assessed by a Canadian Board Certified Orthotist. All Certified Orthotists have completed a two year post graduate clinical education in Orthotics as well as a two year residency before they are able to write The Canadian Board Certification Exams. Only after completing the Canadian Board Exam are Orthotists able to use the designation C.O.(c). In addition to our clinical staff, we have the technical expertise of a Canadian Association of Prothetists and Orthotists Registered Technician in Orthotics. This is to assure the patient that they are receiving a device that has been fabricated with an exceptional level of quality.

👋 Meet Linda, one of our founding orthotists at Custom Orthotic Design Group. With almost 30 years of experience since joining in 1996, Linda has always been inspired by Terry Fox to make a meaningful difference in the lives of her patients.

💼 Professional Background: Linda loves the variety her job offers—from fitting helmets for babies to helping marathon runners enhance their performance. Every day brings something new, and she’s passionate about making sure her patients are well cared for, whether it’s with a back brace or support for daily comfort.

💚 Personal Insights: When she’s not working, Linda enjoys volunteering, stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, and travelling, and fondly remembers her soccer days.

We are especially proud to highlight one of our own: Kenneth Amesbury, brother of one of our certified orthotists. Kenneth is a dedicated member of the Canadian military, serving with honour and distinction for several years and continuing to do so today.

Here’s a look at one of the many steps involved in fabricating custom Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs) — forming the plastic using vacuum pressure for a precise, supportive fit.

Every orthosis we make is custom-shaped to the individual, and it all starts right here in our lab. From design to finish, it’s hands-on work with real impact.
