Earth Day is about protecting the earth and protecting people. Communities that face systemic injustice are often the first and hardest hit by pollution, climate change, and lack of access to clean air, water, and green spaces. Caring for the Earth means caring for one another. This Earth Day, let’s commit to solutions that are sustainable and are ones that honor Indigenous knowledge, protect vulnerable communities, and ensure a healthy future for all. Because a livable planet and social justice go hand in hand.

We stand with 2SLGBTQIA+ students, educators, support staff, and families, affirming that every person deserves safety, dignity, and belonging. We will continue to celebrate identity and build schools and workplaces where everyone can show up fully as themselves.

We stand with Indigenous communities in the ongoing work of language revitalization and commit to creating spaces where these languages are heard, respected, and celebrated.
