Sometimes trauma doesn’t look like one big event….. and that’s why people find it “confusing”….
Sometimes it looks like growing up in chaos, being on edge all the time, learning to stay quiet, people-pleasing, or staying strong because you had to…..
Here is what I feel is the complex and confusing part…. because it was your everyday normal, you might not even call it trauma.
You might say things like:
👉 “It wasn’t that bad.”
👉 “Others had it worse.”
👉 “I turned out okay.”
And maybe you did… on the outside.
But being “okay” can still mean:
• always being in survival mode
• struggling to rest or feel safe
• difficulty trusting others or yourself
• feeling emotionally exhausted without knowing why
• insomnia
Complex trauma isn’t about weakness…. It’s about what your nervous system had to do to survive for a long time.
And realizing that doesn’t mean blaming the past, It means giving yourself permission to understand it.
Because healing isn’t about proving to others that you are fine.
It’s about finally feeling safe …. In the inside! ❤️
Love wins, always!
