🎈🎉 WE ARE 5️⃣F I V E5️⃣!! 🎉🎈

We can’t believe it but somehow it’s been F I V E years since the doors at McKenna’s PharmaChoice first opened!!

During these past F I V E years we have:
👏🏼 Increased from 6 to 20 staff
👏🏼 Supported staff to become Travel Health Certified and a Certified Diabetes Educator
👏🏼 Added an extra consult room for Pharmacist-led minor ailment care
👏🏼 Launched a pension plan for full-time employees
👏🏼 Opened a Doctor-led Walk-In clinic
👏🏼 Supported the launch of and actively participate in providing a multitude of minor ailment assessments under the Pharmacy Plus PEI program
👏🏼 Began providing Strep Throat Assessments
👏🏼 Added a local section to support other small PEI businesses and products
👏🏼 Been out in the community providing information sessions, participating in parades, or sponsoring events and facilities!

🔹These clinics are staffed by doctors.
Registering online is recommended.
🔹Online registration opens at ⏰6:30AM⏰ on clinic days and can be completed via Skip the Waiting room: https://pe.skipthewaitingroom.com/.../mckennas-health-centre
🔹A limited number of time slots are reserved for “true” walk-in appointments every clinic; if you would like to gauge availability and approximate wait times before heading out please call ☎️902-361-5555☎️ during clinic hours. Registration for “true” walk-in appointments will start when the clinic begins.
🔹Appointment number cards for "true" walk-in appointments will only be available a maximum of one hour before the clinic. If you have a number card please do not leave the clinic until you have registered for an appointment.
🔹A valid provincial health card IS required to register for an in-person or online Skip appointment.
🔹Doctors can only address 1 health concern per appointment.
🔹Doctors are scheduling these walk-in clinics before/after working ER shifts, at their family practice, or on their days off. To respect the doctor’s time and ensure clinics are finished on schedule, a specific number of appointments are scheduled each clinic (both Skip The Waiting Room and “true” walk-in appointments).
☝🏼Showing up during clinic hours does NOT guarantee you will be seen.
🔹 This is a full service clinic for non-emergencies. If you feel your medical needs are urgent, please call 911 or head directly to your closest emergency department.
🔹 Narcotic or controlled substance prescriptions are not available at McKenna’s HealthCentre.
🔹McKenna’s HealthCentre Walk-In Clinic is located at 50 Queens Road, Montague (inside of McKenna’s PharmaChoice).

⚠️❄️Tomorrow morning (February 24th)’s scheduled walk-in clinic is❗️CANCELLED ❗️due to the expected weather conditions and related cleanup.

The next walk-in clinic for this week will be Wednesday morning at 9AM.

In 2026 alone, McKenna’s HealthCentre has treated 3️⃣2️⃣7️⃣ patients to date (1.5 months)!

This wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our wonderful doctors; Dr. Campbell, Dr. Magennis, Dr. Christensen, Dr. Whalen, & Dr. Mooney! Thank you all!! 🙌🏽

Did you know the administrative and operational costs of the walk-in clinic are paid for by McKenna’s PharmaChoice? The pharmacy’s only associated benefit is the potential to fill prescriptions arising from clinic visits. That’s the difference of supporting local: community is a top priority!

👩‍⚕️Denise from McKennas Pharmachoice will join us to discuss the “do’s and dont’s” of over the counter medications for babies and toddlers! This will also be a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have for a pharmacist!👩‍⚕️
