A lot of people think acne = “I don’t wash enough” but sometimes it’s INTERNAL or from stuff that touches your skin. Here’s why these can trigger breakouts 👇🏼
💊 Certain medications: some meds (hormonal, steroids, even some vitamins) can increase oil or inflammation = more clogged pores. Always check with your doctor before changing anything.
🧴 Shampoo + conditioner: when it runs down your face/back in the shower and the formula is heavy or scented, it can clog pores → hello backne + jawline pimples. Wash your face after your hair.
🥩 Red meat: eaten too often, it can increase inflammation in the body. Inflamed body = inflamed skin.
🍫 🍕 Chocolate / sugary + processed foods: big sugar spikes make your insulin go up, which can stimulate oil + androgens = more breakouts.
🥯 Processed grains (cereal, white bread, etc.): same story — high glycemic = more inflammation + oil.
🍳 Eggs: not for everyone, but some acne-prone skins react to the proteins or to biotin in eggs → tiny jawline/cheek breakouts.
Does it mean you can never eat these again? No babe 😂 but if your acne is stubborn, tracking your food + products can REALLY help you see patterns.
Save this for your next “why am I breaking out again?” moment 🩵
