It feels weird (but awesome!) To have regular menstrual cycles. Having been able to turn my cycles around from 100+ days at their longest, to a regular sub-30 cycles within the last year has been a huge win for me.

Not only that, but my funk seems way more manageable too.

Diet changes have made the biggest difference, but I'm convinced the environment I'm in and the external influences to my mood and mindset also play a role in my body's physiology.

Happy to be here today, and SO excited to keep this train going.

The answer to your weight-loss woes is already within your grasp. Searching for the magical pill or diet is only delaying the process. Doing the basics is BORING but it WORKS.

You can choose to keep yourself entertained, or you can choose results. It's simple.

Let's call those what they are: EXCUSES.

The reality is, nearly everyone knows what they should be eating MORE of and LESS of. The problem isn't a lack of knowledge, it's application.

Do YOU feel stuck? WHY are you stuck? What part of you is holding you back from making the simple lifestyle changes that'll get you on a healthier path?

Resistance is a choice. You can go your whole life telling yourself reasons why you can't do this or can't do that.

Or you can figure out the simplest way to get after your goals, and do that instead.

Stop overcomplicating things for yourself.

Picture is a meal I whipped up in 15 mins while short on groceries after being away for two weeks. Fried sardines in EVOO, roasted potatoes, greens, walnuts.

Eating healthy doesn't have to be complicated. You don't need fancy ingredients. You don't need to blow your budget. You don't need to buy "organic". And you CERTAINLY don't need to slap a label on your diet.

EAT. REAL. FOOD.

Eat food that grows from the ground. LOTS of it.

Eat food that comes from animals. And with as little human interference as possible.

Get enough protein and fats. Eat your starchy, fiber-rich carbohydrates. Drink lots of water - minimize sugar consumption. Eat fermented foods. Eat tons of greens - and every other color you can get your hands on.

Do that every day, and you'll soon find that your diet makes your life RICHER.

Never met a sunny day I didn't like.

Today is International No Diet Day - and I'm here for it!

If you've been following me for longer than 30 seconds, you know I hate "diets" and the diet culture that surrounds it.

I don't believe in labels, fads, gimmicks, detoxes, shortcuts, or quick fixes.

You are what you eat, and food should be the first line of defense to promote health and longevity. Why not LEARN what constitutes a good diet instead of simply following the latest trend because someone said so?

Every macronutrient has its place in a healthy diet.
Carbohydrates, protein and fats are all your friends.

You don't need to cut out specific foods if you eat MORE of the things you NEED: poultry, beef, fish and seafood, healthy fats, fiber, micronutrients, fruits, nutrient-dense carbohydrates, whole grains, eggs, etc.

Drop a HELL YEAH if you're with me 🙌🏼

I was recently accused of not having PMDD because my posts are too “aspirational and unrealistic”.

There are a few reasons why I choose to keep my feed on the happier, motivational side. Regardless, judging someone and their struggles based entirely on what they choose to share on social media is one of the best ways to nurture bitterness and resentment towards your own healing journey.

As a PMDD warrior, I know how easy it is to get caught in the web of comparison. I do it all the time. I see other women thriving in their social lives, businesses, and romantic relationships, and it almost feels like a personal attack. "Why can’t I have those things too?"

Thankfully, I’ve grown to realize that not all that shines is gold, and social media hardly (if ever) tells the whole story.

No one needs to struggle publicly in order to have their challenges validated. We all deal with it differently. But I think we can do better, as humans, as women, and as PMDD warriors, to support and respect one another without the need to measure ourselves (and our personal struggles) up to others.

Last night, as I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep, I felt this sudden rush of anxiety start to come up.

When that happens, I try not to get in my head much, as I know it's just one of the symptoms of PMDD rearing its ugly lil head in.

But, if you've ever experienced these anxiety attacks, you know "awareness" doesn't bring much relief.

What DID help, though, was doing the physiological sigh. This is a breathing drill where you inhale two times in a row, followed by a longer exhale.

Doing so brings your body to a calm, relaxed state by working with your its natural rhythms.

And it absolutely did the trick for me. I did it about 3 times, and the anxiety was immediately gone.

Keep this in mind next time you're going through it. It's one of the best ways to calm down fast and regain control of yourself.
