The knee is the largest and most complex joint in the human body. There are two joints, the tibio-femoral joint and the patello-femoral joint, supporting most of the weight of the body and allowing us to bend the knee. The knee derives its stability from four bones: the tibia, patella, femur and fibula. Additionally, there are ligaments that tie the bones together: there are 5 main ligaments that hold the knee securely in place and allow it to move without going too far forward or backward.
