Merry Christmas everyone! Something that always brings us together with our families is putting up the christmas tree. It's a special tradition! It's fun to be with family and keep traditions alive each year.

What is something fun that brings your family together each christmas season?

One of my favorite traditions around Christmas time has been reading a book on Christmas Eve as a family. The book is called "The Forgotten Carols". I've always loved reading this book with my loved ones and feeling the spirit of Christmas as a family. Last Christmas I was able to continue my family's tradition even while away from home. The story gives me such an interesting perspective on the story around the birth of Christ, it's so cool how we can grow closer to our families and Christ through our family traditions!

Une chose qui fait un lien entre les générations je trouve est la nourriture! Je n'ai jamais rencontré mon arrière arrière grand-mère mais ma mère cuisinait ce gâteau dont la recette vient d'elle 😊 Je suis contente d'avoir un gâteau qui me réconfort et qui me connecte à mon arrière arrière grand-mère qui ma mère me disait était si douce comme le gâteau!

Un jour j'ai choisi d'utiliser la fonctionne sur familysearch qui s'appelle situer mes ancêtres. Sur l'application j'ai vu que j'ai des ancêtres qui viennent d'Écossais. Et ce qui m'a beaucoup surpris c'est que mes ancêtres d'Écossais étaient des soldats, et en plus j'ai appris la danse d'Écossais des épées quelques mois avant ! Cette danse a été dansée par les soldats là-bas!
Même s'ils n'ont jamais appris la danse, je suis très content d'avoir ce lien avec mes ancêtres et d'avoir l'opportunité d'apprendre à propos d'eux! Que liez-vous à vos origines ?

This is my Great Grandma. She was very close to my mother when she was young. Growing up my mom would tell me stories about her. My grandma loved cooking and baking with her grandkids. Food was and is something that brings my family all together.
In our family we have a family cookbook, full of family recipes. One of my favorites is the cowboy cookies, made by my Great Grandma Low. 🍪

Hello! My name is Elder Davila. Traditions made in my family have brought so much laughter and joy that have united our family and friends close together.
In my family no matter how careful you are, we always find a way to splash each other with water on their birthdays and they always end up with a face full of Cake!

These Traditions have made my family become united in joy and laughter and we have always given thanks to our Heavenly Father for such a wonderful family. Heavenly Father loves us so much that he gave us each a family to be with and have joy in.

Did you know that the hymn "How Great Thou Art" was originally written in Swedish? Carl Gustav Boberg wrote in it 1885, and now a version of it it is sung all over the world in so many different languages!! All of our ancestors made their marks on the world in different ways, and now we can learn about their contributions from home, or anywhere!
The things around us have such rich histories that are waiting to be discovered, there are always new roots to learn about!

Hola! ¡Yo soy Elder Elggren! ¡Y este es la Familia Elggren! Están mis padres Davey y Ethia, mis hermanos Tenoch y Itzcoatl, mi hermanita Yaretzy, y mi querida abuela Ester! Estoy tan agradecido por ellos y los ejemplos que me dan! Ellos me han enseñado tanto! Por ejemplo, cómo cocinar, cómo ser respetuoso, y amar a todos. Y también estoy tan agradecido por mis ancestros! Por los ejemplos que han dado y cómo han impactado a mi Familia!
