I have often worked on our palliative care floor while working as PAB, and the highlight of the day is 💯 when the music therapists pass by. You can feel the mood change on the unit!! Everyone's mood is just a little bit lighter. From the paitents, to housekeeping staff, the nurses and doctors get in on act, often joining in on songs they know. In other more serious moments you can find the music therapists playing beside a dying paitent's bed or comforting a loved one, by playing that one special song.
It is truly amazing see how music touch each individual.
