With over thirty years experience in clinical psychology including twenty years as Chief Psychologist at the Royal Victoria Hospital, I have helped many people through many difficult life circumstances. I have guided the development of many innovative programs in mental health including clinics in stress management, depression, anxiety as well as gambling. At this time, I have a more specialized practice focusing upon psychological issues in the workplace. Work is perhaps unique demanding participation to pay the bills, but also offering a sense of identity, the passion of competition and the glow of achieving a goal. Regrettably, some work environments make the struggle more difficult by decreasing the employee's sense of control, providing minimal direction or lack of recognition -all things that can lead to poor productivity and possibly burnout. My practice helps both managers and those being managed to achieve their re-experience what they hopefully initially imagined when they thought of work - creativity, teamwork and a sense of satisfaction about finishing a well-done job.
