It's a fairly recent discovery that fascia in the body can contract and relax. It works a bit differently than muscle, though. We don't have voluntary control over it. It's governed by the autonomic nervous system. As such, stress can result in increased fascial tension.

One upside of the current situation is that I was able to attend the British Fascia Symposium. What an enriching learning experience it was.

What an incredible five days BFS Online has been! It has really warmed my heart to see the connections made, discussions had and of course all of the amazing knowledge and content which has been shared.

We finished today with the Advisory Panel: Gil Hedley, Gil Hedley, Integral Anatomy, Robert Schleip, Til Luchau, Carol M. Davis, John Sharkey, Wilbour Kelsick and Sue Hitzmann answered questions from the audience. These answers then diversified into broad ranging discussions which were a delight to listen to!

Then the poignant goodbyes - even more so because this has been a time of connection, meeting new people - even in the two dimensional online realm that's a gift and a pleasure - and learning so much together from the generous sharing of our brilliant presenters.

Farewell all! We'll meet again one day soon I hope.
