École Setsuko

École Setsuko Accredited massage and holistic health courses with mentorship. Career-ready in Montreal and Dorval. This is a key aspect that differentiates us from others.

Massage Therapist Certification and Holistic Health Education
At Ecole Setsuko Montreal and Dorval (West Island), we are more than just a learning institution; we are a vibrant community dedicated to pursuing holistic health and wellness. Our mission is deeply rooted in empowering students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills that transcend traditional boundaries. What Makes Ecole Setsuko different from many of the schools out there? Community and Holistic Approach: At Ecole Setsuko, we’re not just a school; we’re a community. Our holistic approach to teaching goes beyond traditional methods. We emphasize the importance of treating the body, mind, and spirit as a whole. Comprehensive Education: We provide our students with more than just massage techniques. We educate them on finding root causes, understanding how emotions and trauma can be stored in the body, and the significance of mental and emotional well-being in their practice. Business Skills: Unlike many schools, we equip our students with current marketing and advertising knowledge and essential skills for opening and running a successful business. This practical knowledge is crucial in today’s world and sets our students up for real success. Personal Attention and Mentorship: With our smaller class sizes, we ensure that each student receives personal attention. They aren’t just numbers to us; they are part of our family. We focus on mentoring and coaching them to be excellent therapists and to guide their clients toward better health and well-being. Staying Current: We constantly update our curriculum to stay aligned with the latest regulations and requirements from the Massage Therapy Associations. This ensures our students are always current and informed. Recognized by multiple associations such as Ritma, ACTMD and many more, You have the option of choosing the association that feels like the best fit for you and your needs. At Ecole Setsuko, we are committed to shaping a future where holistic health is accessible, understood, and valued. We invite you to join us on this journey of discovery, growth, and empowerment.

Jenni went away for a few weeks, which honestly felt like forever.
But she has big visions for the future ,
she’s always one step ahead of the game.

She’s already back, already updating us on the future, already setting things in motion.

Which explains why we accidentally wrote 2025 instead of 2026 in our post 😅

When you’re always thinking ahead, sometimes the calendar needs to catch up.

So to clarify:
👉 The retreat outside of Canada is 2026 and 2027, not 2025.

Thank you for rolling with us !!
We’re human over here.

Big vision.
Fast momentum.
Always forward.

Jenni travelled this year to compete and push herself.
She chose to be a small fish in big waters because she knew that to grow bigger, she had to step into bigger rooms.

She immersed herself.
She observed.
She envisioned the year ahead.

While some people plan for years, she puts things into motion within seconds.

That’s her spirit.
That’s her passion.
That’s her life.

Imagine what she could help you become.

Did you know we combine Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupressure with Shiatsu techniques to create deeper, longer-lasting results?

No needles.
No tools.
Just skilled hands, elbows, palms, fingertips guided by precise TCM theory and techniques.

In this case, Jenni mentioned the Bladder Channel.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Bladder Channel is the longest meridian in the body. It runs along the entire back and connects to the nervous system, stress response, muscles, and even emotional holding patterns.

When we work along this channel, we’re not just releasing tight muscles
we’re regulating the body.

That’s the difference between technique…
and understanding.

Just had lunch… and now your client is bloated?

If there’s’ bloating , adjust your approach.

Instead of working aggressively on the abdomen, support digestion intelligently.

Apply gentle pressure here ⬇️

The point is located midway between the xiphoid process and the navel, on the midline.

Sometimes less technique… is more intelligence.

Now it’s real. Our work is being recognized beyond our walls.

École Setsuko is receiving well-earned recognition, and the right people are coming together to make this happen.

Like everything in life, it takes a village to create a community, to grow, and to share our passion with others.
What better way than to unite?

To all of our teachers, graduates, and students
thank you. 🤍

We will continue to expand, introduce new workshops, programs, and events because massage is not linear, and neither is the way we learn, grow, or evolve.

The journey is just beginning.

Did you know we open our Shiatsu classes with Jasper??
That’s right Qi Gong in every Shiatsu class!!

We’re so proud and fortunate to have a 20-something teacher who has already mastered so much at such a young age:
• Trained in Hatha Yoga at the Sivananda School (2017), including a 6-month ashram residency
• Certified Qigong instructor, trained with Lee Holden and Zhang Mingliang (Mount Emei)
• Over 1,400 hours of training at the Setsuko School in Shiatsu, Acupressure & Swedish massage
• Currenly leads Qigong every Sundays and Thursday at École Setsuko (link in bio)
• Teaches Shiatsu with us in Dorval

You can see more of Jasper in our Qigong videos and during our classes 🙌

A space that feels calm usually has balanced movement.

A space that feels draining often has interrupted or chaotic flow.

So why not apply these same principles to the body?

We can learn to observe and read the body, then adjust our energy and our clients’ energy accordingly.
Work smarter, not harder.

We do this by mastering observation.
Traditional Chinese Medicine asks simple, yet powerful questions:
• Where does energy get stuck?
• Where does it rush too quickly?
• Where does it feel supported, grounded, or nourished?

If you’re looking to get your feet wet in Traditional Chinese Medicine,
or begin learning how to read the tongue and pulse,
this is a gentle, practical place to start.

Story time ✨

Imagine being pregnant during training.
Not once , but twice.
(There must be something in the water )

Marcia completed her TCM & Shiatsu training while pregnant with both of her children at École Setsuko.

She looks back on that time as something truly special, often crediting these practices.
Her smile says it all.

Today, we are so honoured to have teaching those same traditions , TCM, Acupressure, and Shiatsu to the next generation of students.

Thank you for your dedication, passion, and heart.
We can’t wait for the next group ✨

Our Story

Setsu-ko means “touching energy”. It was my grandmother’s name passed on to me whose meaning I never understood until I began this work. As a trained dancer, I used my body as my sole vehicle for expression, communication and technique. I received my first massage at the age of 16. It was then that I knew my purpose in life; to make people feel as good as I did in that moment. For over 17 years I have been working with clients, expanding my practice, travelling, teaching and learning new techniques. It is my passion to share my experiences and insights, while ‘bridging the gap’ between the old generation and the new. To bring back ancient teachings and cultural traditions that has healed families for centuries. Our unique approach to learning includes a multidimensional awareness to health, wellness and balance. Each educational component is accompanied by an IN-body, somatic experience. In this way, combining physical, emotional and the energetic/spiritual aspects creates harmony and balance. Without this awareness, the dis-stress in our lives, can eventually show up as physical pain, emotional unrest, mental instability or a diagnosed dis-ease.

This school provides a safe space for self-discovery, outreach and transference of knowledge. Our clinic level will offer consultations and bodywork sessions within the community, bringing relief to those who suffer from ailments and imbalance and who cannot afford the costs of private holistic therapies, while giving our students a chance to gain hands-on experience, confidence, and communication skills which will be supervised by the teacher.

Ecole Setsuko is a holistic health education school that offers both workshops for general interest and full certification programs in the field of natural therapy, massage therapy, acupressure and energy work. Located in Montreal, Quebec for our on-site teaching clinics and in person training, we can also access a larger audience by offering online trainings.
