Saviez-vous que nous avons de la chance d’avoir avec nous une physiothérapeute extraordinaire? — d’une gentillesse, d’une patience et d’une intégrité remarquables! Et j’ai failli oublier sa fête… (shame on me!)
Avant qu’il ne soit trop t**d, je veux souhaiter le plus bel anniversaire à Maria Celia Bazan!
Maria nous arrive du Pérou, où elle exerçait comme médecin de famille. Elle est venue au Canada et a complété toutes les démarches pour obtenir son équivalence en médecine, mais pour une raison qui m’échappe encore, on ne lui a jamais donné l’opportunité de faire sa résidence… Leur perte — celle d’une médecin dotée d’une empathie incroyable.
Et aujourd’hui, c’est notre chance à nous de l’avoir à Palestra, où elle offre ses services en tant que physiothérapeute! Elle vient d’ailleurs de compléter des formations supplémentaires qui lui permettent maintenant de prescrire des imageries en contexte de traumatismes aigus.

Before it’s too late, I want to wish the happiest of birthdays to Maria Celia Bazan!
Maria came to us from Peru, where she was working as a family physician. She came to Canada and completed all the necessary studies for her medical equivalency, but for reasons I still can’t understand, she was never given the opportunity to do her residency. Their loss—a physician with incredible empathy.
So here she is with us at Palestra, offering her care as a physiotherapist—and we are the lucky ones to have her! She has also recently completed additional training that now allows her to prescribe imaging in cases of acute trauma.
