I’m proud to announce that I’ve recently completed the Problem Gambling Counsellor Training, earning my CPGC designation.
This marks a significant step in my commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by problematic behaviours and gambling-related harms, especially among youth.
In the upcoming weeks, Lighthouse will begin rolling out its most comprehensive Problematic Gambling Support program to youth, adults and families affected by this rapidly increasing problem.
The rise in youth problem gambling is overwhelming and undeniable, driven in part by the easy accessibility and “gamified” nature of online platforms.
The impact is severe: Youth with gambling problems report higher rates of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and su***de attempts, at twice the rate of other addictions.
