McGill LSA / AÉD Stay updated on most that goes on at the Fac'. Restez à l'affût de ce qui se passe à la fac. The Law Students’ Association was created on March 12, 1912.

Before that time, law students were members exclusively of the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU). Since then, our membership has grown from 30 to about 700. On May 4th 1992 the LSA was incorporated and continues to play a very active role in student life and student governance at various levels: Faculty, University, Provincial and Federal. The LSA is the official student organization of the Faculty of Law of McGill University. We aim at representing your voice in the Faculty’s administration as well as offering services, organizing events and supporting your projects. If you have any questions or suggestions, please come and see us in the LSA office in the basement of OCDH (red door), write us an e-mail, call us or simply stop us in the halls. The LSA executive has 10 members who represent law students. Every executive member is elected or acclaimed during end of year elections. L’Association des étudiant-e-s en droit (AÉD) a été créée le 12 mars 1912. Auparavant, les étudiant-e-s en droit étaient exclusivement membres de l’Association Étudiante de McGill (AÉUM). Depuis la création de l’AÉD, le nombre de membres a augmenté de 30 à environ 600. Le 4 mai 1992, l’AÉD fut incorporée et depuis, elle poursuit un rôle actif dans la vie étudiante ainsi que dans la gouvernance étudiante aux niveaux facultaire, universitaire, provincial et fédéral. L’AÉD est l’organe étudiant officiel de la Faculté de Droit de McGill. Notre travail consiste à vous représenter auprès de l’administration facultaire, à vous offrir des services, à organiser des événements et à appuyer la réalisation de vos projets. Si vous avez des questions ou commentaires, n’hésitez surtout pas à venir nous voir à notre bureau dans le sous-sol de OCDH (la porte rouge), à nous écrire par courriel, à nous appeler ou simplement à nous aborder dans les couloirs. L’exécutif de l’AÉD est composé de dix membres qui représentent les étudiant-e-s de la Faculté de Droit. Chaque membre de l’exécutif est élu-e ou acclamé-e au cours des élections de fin d’année.

The LSA is thrilled to launch its first edition of Exam Care Package! Cette initiative vise à supporter notre communauté étudiante durant la mi-session. Que ce soit une boisson énergisante, des post-its pour annoter vos lectures ou un cours gratuit pour bouger, on espère que ces petites surprises vous apporteront un peu de réconfort!

Votre équipe exécutive de l’AÉD a travaillé fort toute la fin de semaine pour préparer chacune des 300 trousses qui seront distribuées. Nous tenons à remercier chaleureusement l’ensemble des commanditaires qui ont généreusement contribué à cette nouvelle initiative!

Registration is mandatory, so make sure to sign up on Evelya to claim your goodie bag. Quantities are limited: first-come, first-served! Registration is open from October 5th at 6:00 PM to October 6th at 12:30 PM.

**Without registration, you will not be eligible to receive a package**

📅 Lundi 6 octobre
Exams are around the corner, and we know this time of year can be demanding. Pour vous donner un petit coup de pouce, l’AÉD est heureuse de lancer sa toute première édition de trousses de soutiens aux examens. From 1:00 to 2:30 PM in the Atrium, come pick up a goodie bag filled with practical items, small treats, and a few surprises, including items from and . Students will need to reserve a bag (registration will open on Sunday at 12:30 PM). C’est notre façon de soutenir la communauté étudiante et de vous souhaiter bon succès pour vos examens. Nous avons hâte de vous voir!

📅 Mardi 7 octobre
Nomination period for the LSA elections will close at 5:30 PM. The following positions are up for election: One (1) 1L Faculty Council member position, two (2) 1L class presidents, one (1) Vice-President Communications.

📅 Mercredi 8 octobre
There will be a Candidates Meet & Greet on Wednesday, October 8, during Universal Break (1 pm-2:30 pm) for candidates to present their platforms and answer questions from students. All students are welcome and encouraged to come meet the candidates and hear more from them.
