Brian Cotnoir shared this simple martial arts philosophy on the podcast, it hit hard. “Knocked down six. Get up seven.” It doesn’t matter how many times you fail, how many times the algorithm changes, or how many times the plan falls apart. Just as long as you keep getting up.

Been thinking about something Brian Cotnoir said when i spoke with him recently. He called alchemy “the art of arts,” and the more it sits with me, the more it tracks.

His point is that whatever you’re building, a business, a painting, yourself, the underlying process is the same. The small, daily work you do mirrors how things grow in nature. Slow, patterned, not always visible. You can’t rush it, but you can get in its way.

That reframe has been useful for me lately. When the work feels stuck, it’s usually because we’re fighting the pace of it instead of trusting it.
