Hardstyle Kettlebell Mtl is a school where we teach people how to move better and encourage them to move often. We train movement patterns rather than muscle groups, and pay special attention to how each movement is performed, reinforcing quality over quantity. We emphasize and teach the skill of strength and flexibility/mobility, and strive for balance and symmetry in each, like Yin and Yang. Our training philosophy can be compared to traditional Martial Arts because we challenge our students to “practice” rather than “workout”. We are about the underlying principles, not just the tools used. We train and teach through the use of minimal equipment, such as kettlebells and one’s own bodyweight because we believe that simplicity is key and less is more when focusing on attaining results. Our classes and programs are fun, effective, unique and stimulating for everyone, from beginners to athletes and all ages groups. We never compromise quality and our number one concern is “do no harm”. We are known for making strength and flexibility easy and attainable to anyone, and most of all enjoyable for life. Everyone that comes through our door goes though a movement assessment and is consulted for a training program to fit their schedule and budget. We set goals for our students and standards for them to achieve. We work our hardest to attain them together. For rates and hours, please visit www.hardstylekettlebell.ca

Most people haven’t even mastered the basic kettlebell sn**ch…

yet they’re already chasing complexity.

That’s a mistake.

In this video, I break down advanced and non-conventional kettlebell sn**ch variations—not for beginners, but for those who already own the fundamentals and want to expand their skill, control, and coordination.

Here’s what you’ll see:
– Front Sn**ch – A forward projection of the bell, similar to a front raise, demanding strict control and timing
– Lateral Sn**ch – Moving the bell from the outside path back into the hinge, forcing you to own multiple planes of motion
– Double Kettlebell Sn**ch – Power, symmetry, and precision under load
– Double Squat Sn**ch – Blending strength and fluidity as the bells travel forward before being driven overhead

Then we layer progression:
– Front position
– Diagonal path
– Full overhead lockout

This isn’t random variation.

This is skill progression across planes of motion.

If your technique breaks here, it means your foundation isn’t as solid as you think.

Master the basics. Then earn the right to explore this level.

Stop swinging like half your body is asleep.

Most people focus on the working arm…and completely ignore the other side.

That’s a mistake.

Your free arm isn’t just “there” —
it helps you generate force.

Just like sprinting.
Just like jumping.

No arm = less power.

Fix it:
– Drive it back explosively
– Bring it up in a guard
– Stay dynamic, not stiff

Small detail. Big difference.
Train like an athlete.

Most people don’t have weak abs…

they just don’t know how to use them.

If that kettlebell is moving—
you’re leaking tension every breath.

That means less strength, less stability…
and a higher chance of getting hurt.

Learn to Breathe Behind the Shield. 🌬️🛡

Stay tight. Breathe anyway.

Send this to someone who thinks they have strong abs.

700 swings sounds impressive… until your form falls apart.

Power dies when fatigue takes over.

10 perfect reps > 50 sloppy ones.

Train for power not fatigue.

Most people don’t need more sn**ch variations…

They need a better sn**ch.

⚠️ If you haven’t mastered the standard kettlebell sn**ch yet — don’t do these.

Earn the basics first.

But if your technique is solid, these will expose weak links fast:
– Suitcase Sn**ch
– Skier Sn**ch (watch your knees)
– Cross-Body Sn**ch (control it back to rack)
– Anchored Sn**ch (credit to Charlie 🇲🇽)

Control the path.
Control the descent.
Own the lockout.

Everyone does the same kettlebell clean…

But if you want real control, coordination, and strength — you need variation.

Here are 4 unconventional ways to clean the bell:

– Suitcase Clean
Start from the side like a suitcase deadlift. Forces clean path control and lat engagement.

– Skier Swing Clean
Swing from the outside of the body instead of between the legs. Builds awareness and timing.
⚠️ Stay clear of the knees.

– Cross-Body Clean
Clean from the opposite side. Trains anti-rotation and coordination.
⚠️ Control the backswing — don’t smash your feet.

– Anchored Clean
One bell stays anchored, the other cleans. Brutal for tension, grip, and total-body linkage.
Learned this one from my friend , Team Leader

These aren’t just “variations” — they expose weak links in your clean.

Fix your path. Own the rack. Stay tight.
If your clean feels sloppy… this is where you start.

I’ll be presenting at fitMONTREAL on March 28.

I’ll be teaching a Kettlebell Swing Masterclass focused on what actually matters:
– Clean hinge mechanics
– Power generation
– Fixing common swing mistakes
– Simple, effective programming

Too many people are still swinging with their arms, their back, or momentum.

We’re fixing that.

If you want to move better, get stronger, and coach with more precision—this is for you.

See you in Montreal.

Our Story

Hardstyle Kettlebell Mtl is not your typical gym.

We are a school where we teach people how to MOVE BETTER and encourage them to MOVE MORE OFTEN. We train movements that challenge the entire body rather than isolating muscle groups, and pay we special attention to how each movement is performed, reinforcing quality over quantity.

Our PURPOSE is to make our students into better, stronger and more functional human beings for life. Everything we do here applies to everyday activities, and every exercise you perform will have a positive carryover to what you do outside the gym. We emphasize and teach SKILLS of movement, strength and flexibility/mobility through better AWARENESS and strive for balance and symmetry in each, like Yin and Yang. Our training philosophy can be compared to traditional Martial Arts because we challenge our students to “practice” rather than “workout”. We are about the underlying principles, not just the tools used. This is mindful movement.

We train and teach through the use of minimal equipment, such as kettlebells and one’s own bodyweight because we believe that SIMPLICITY is key and less is more when focusing on attaining results.
