For all those suffering from rotator cuff weakness, the 4 rules of Rotator cuff Training are:
1) No pain allowed! If needed, decrease resistance and/ or place arm in greater abduction by using a thicker pillow
2) Gently adduct the arm (bring it towards the body) to inhibit deltoid activation
3) Focus on eccentric control (10 second return)
4)Go to end-range of lateral rotation, if unable, decrease resistance.

A recent 1-year danish epidemiological study on 1000 runners wearing neutral running shoes concluded that:
"Foot pronation is not associated with increased injury risk in novice runners wearing a neutral shoe"
Thus if you have flat feet and wish to run, you DO NOT need to wear a "motion control" shoe to reduce your risk of injury.
(Nielsen RO, et al. Foot pronation is not associated with increased injury risk in novice runners wearing a neutral shoe: a 1-year prospective cohort study.Br J Sports Med.2013 Jun 13.)

(Herdman and tusa 2007).

Ever since I can remember, I have always loved sports and physical activities. This passion led me into studying health science at Vanier college, and further Mcgill university where I successfully completed my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Physical Therapy. During my education I had opportunities of doing internships in both the private and the public sector. Throughout this experience, I worked with patients of different age groups. The various internships I did, helped me acquire the tools to excel in my field and gain an appreciation for its diversity.
I have been attending numerous continuing education courses and seminars in order to acquire more knowledge and most importantly apply evidence-based treatments to my clientele. My expertise are in the domain of orthopaedics (manual therapy & sports therapy) and vestibular rehabilitation.
I henceforth mostly treat clients with musculoskeletal injuries and vestibular problems of different age groups. I also follow and understand the mechanics of various main stream sports as it helps me offer my athletic clients an adequate treatment plan. This allows me to provide an individualized and adapted treatment for people with musculoskeletal and vestibular problems.
For booking you can contact me through face book (PhysioExcel Montréal), or Contact Recharge - fitness located in Ville St-Laurent, or PhysioConcept located in BoisBriand.

If you present with symptoms such as unilateral headache with side consistency, meaning that your headache is always on one side. More over, if you find that your headache gets worse with certain postures e.g. prolonged reading, texting, keyboarding, looking up behind, looking up to the top shelf of a cupboard. Furthermore, if you have difficulties with turning your neck sideways e.g. checking your blind spots while driving, having to turn your trunk in order to turn side ways etc. and these movements increase your headache. This means that you may be suffering from cervical (cervicogenic) headaches.
Consulting a physician is always a good idea, but don't forget that consulting a physiotherapist is even a better idea as we provide evidence based treatments that will eliminate your headaches and enable you to be more functional and pain free.
