This was the dream of Arlene Kolosky and we trust it is a hope of yours as well. A hospice would support those who are unable to or do not wish to die at home.

A registered charity fundraising to create an end-of-life haven in Moose Jaw where individuals and their families are supported by a circle of compassionate care. Knowing the invaluable service and impact hospices have had elsewhere, many citizens of our district have dreamed that some day we would have such a facility right here in our own community. Hospice care helps families face life limiting illness with dignity and comfort surrounded by a circle of support, its focus being to provide care to the dying in their location of choice. Hospice care's approach is holistic, helping those who require short term admission to bring symptoms under control in a peaceful, caring, and loving environment.

Every dollar raised has gone directly toward building a haven right here in Moose Jaw. A place of comfort, dignity, and compassionate end-of-life care for local families.

And while we are so proud of how far we’ve come, we continue to fundraise to cover the remaining outstanding costs.

Heartland Hospice Moose Jaw is inviting residents to an evening of music, dinner, and fundraising with “Legends,” a dinner theatre event featuring Devra Straker and Friends.

The fundraiser takes place Saturday, April 11 at the Cosmo Centre, with doors opening at 5 p.m., happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., supper at 6:30 p.m., and the show to follow. The performance will feature songs made famous by legendary country and rock artists, along with a silent auction.

Proceeds will support Heartland Hospice’s recent expansion at Pioneer Lodge, including new hospice care rooms, the Serenity Garden, and a sacred space currently under construction. While the campaign has raised $925,000 of its $1.3 million goal, fundraising efforts continue to help close the remaining gap.

Tickets are on sale now through SaskTix or at the Temple Gardens Centre box office. Seating is limited to 200 tickets.

Heartland Hospice is pleased to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors: Norine Seida and Opeyemi (Yemi) Owonla.

Norine brings decades of experience in nursing, long-term care, and palliative care, along with a deep personal commitment to compassionate end-of-life support. Yemi contributes strong financial leadership as a Chartered Professional Accountant and Senior Audit Manager, helping ensure the sustainability of our mission. (See photos for their full bios.)

🎭 Silent Auction Donors Needed — Legends Dinner Theatre (April 11) 🎶

Heartland Hospice is seeking donations for the silent auction at our upcoming Legends Dinner Theatre on April 11. If you choose to contribute an item, gift certificate, or service, your business will receive valuable community exposure, including recognition in the event program, promotion in our online auction (with links to your business), and acknowledgement on Heartland Hospice’s social media platforms.

Tax receipts are available upon request and will be issued based on the fair market value of the donated item.
