My name is Sophie Comrie, I am a registered massage therapist from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy. I enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life and working with them to achieve their therapeutic goals. I am gentle by nature and approach treatment with a gentle touch, using a combination of fascial work, positional release and various other techniques. And, as an athlete from an early age, I have experience in many different sports and also enjoy working with athletes or frequent gym goers.
I was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, where I developed an appreciation for cultural diversity, good food and travel. When I first moved to Canada, in 2015, I was pursuing education in psychology with the goal of becoming a counsellor. I eventually found myself drawn to massage therapy because it provides the same opportunity to help people improve their quality of life, just with a more hands on approach.
I am committed to continually expanding my practice in techniques and modalities in order to provide the best care I can. I have completed an introductory Continuing Education Course in prenatal massage. And, I am also interested in pursuing courses with fascia and visceral focuses, as well as taping and other sports related focuses.
I believe that a thorough interview is the best place to start for an informed and effective treatment plan. I have seen good results from working on clients with tension headaches, whiplash, overuse injuries and postural imbalances.
I look forward to meeting you and providing personalized care that will meet your specific therapeutic needs.
