Did you know that different coloured tints in lenses actually have a purpose? With Valentine's Day coming up, we thought we'd shoutout Pink/Rose tints!

Pink/Rose lens tints are often used for:

- Migraine & Light Sensitivity Relief: Specifically, FL-41 lenses block pain-inducing wavelengths, significantly reducing migraine triggers and discomfort from fluorescent/LED lights.

- Reduces Eye Strain: By filtering harsh blue light and glare, they soothe eyes and minimize strain from digital devices.

Enhances Contrast & Clarity: They boost contrast sensitivity, making details sharper, which is great for sports like golf (seeing the green better), or driving.

Why do they call Glaucoma the Silent Thief?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Since it develops painlessly and gradually, many don’t realize they’ve lost vision until later stages of the disease. The pressure in the eye slowly increases causing damage to the optic nerve. Glaucoma affects the peripheral field of vision. Routine eye health exams are the best way to catch glaucoma in its early stages.

Grab a coffee and let's chat about Omega 3s!

There is quite a bit of confusion out there surrounding Omegas. Oral supplementation of Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce the inflammatory impacts for dry eye disease and help boost the natural oil layer on the surface of the eye. Not all Omegas are created equal. Many are formulated to speed up the process of output in an Ethyl Ester format. Ethyl Ester is a synthetic version and does not absorb in your body very well. Instead, look for a Trigyceride format. The label should say: triglyceride, TG, or rTG. and have a 3:1 ratio of EPA:DHA, the only studied and clinically proven ratio that works for dry eye disease management.
~2000mg of Omega-3 (1500mg EPA, 500mg DHA)

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month

Glaucoma usually affects the side vision first. Often, once it has progressed to this point the vision loss will remain permanent.

About 300,000 Canadians have glaucoma, with only 50% actually being aware that they have it. This is why regular eye exams are so important even if you don’t notice problems with your vision.
