Let's say hello again to Dr. Nida Fatima!

Welcome back! What have you been up to since your last rotation at SMHC?

What are you excited to bring into this rotation?
🩺💉I have been getting more efficient with dermoscopy use and doing biopsies, and I also learned how to do Botox injections.

What do you hope to improve or explore this time around?
🥼I have been working on becoming more proficient and getting as much experience as I can with the bread and butter aspects of family medicine.

What do you enjoy most about being back at SMHC?
🏥I always love coming back to SMHC, it really feels like my safe space. I am happy to be back with my team and excited to see my patients again and check in on how they have been doing.

Let's say hello again to Dr. Mitchell Locke!

Welcome back! What have you been up to since your last rotation at SMHC?
🎾🏥I recently spent time in a few different Emergency Departments gaining more experience with small procedural skills and helping acutely sick patients. Outside of medicine I have been playing lots of tennis and recently spent many (very) early mornings watching the Australian Open.

What are you excited to bring into this rotation?
👨‍👨‍👧‍👦🥼I am excited to bring some of my Emergency Department experience to help better support our patients in the clinic and take better advantage of therapies that can help to keep our community out of the hospital.

What do you hope to improve or explore this time around?
🩺🥼After so much time outside of the clinic setting I hope to come back and refine more of my family medicine skills and learning how to best access resources in the community to advance patient care in a timely manner.

What do you enjoy most about being back at SMHC?
🏥👨‍👨‍👦‍👦The people, without a doubt. It is such a joy to work in such an integrated and cohesive team who enjoy working together and learning from one another in support of our patients. It will be very hard to leave after these rotations finish.

Any new hobbies or interests?
📚❄️The cold weather has really had me in a hibernating mode on the weekends and I have recently re-discovered reading for fun. Most recently, I read “Twice” by Mitch Albom which I strongly recommend.

What would you tell yourself on day one of residency?
🩺Residency is long and learning happens one day at a time. Don’t stress about trying to learn everything all at once and embrace the process of lifelong learning.

What’s something you’re excited about in the next year—professionally or personally?
🍁⛷️🏂Winter Olympics!! Let’s go Team Canada!
