This week we proudly celebrate Medical Laboratory Week and recognize the incredible medical laboratory professionals at Louise Marshall Hospital!

This year’s theme, “The Day Tests Stopped,” is a powerful reminder: without laboratory professionals, there are no answers. Behind nearly every diagnosis and treatment decision is the essential work of Medical Laboratory Technologists and Assistants. If testing stopped, patient care would be profoundly impacted.

At our hospital, our lab team turns uncertainty into answers every single day. Their expertise, precision, and dedication support patient care at every stage, from routine screenings to urgent, life-saving decisions.

This week, we celebrate Patient Access Week, recognizing the incredible staff who are often the first point of contact in a patient’s care journey.

Clerks across Central Registration, Emergency, Ambulatory Care, Diagnostic Imaging, and Inpatient Units welcome patients, verify and update information, coordinate appointments, and manage check-ins and discharges. They support communication between patients and care teams, help guide patients through their visits, and play a key role in keeping workflows organized and efficient while ensuring patients feel informed and supported.

Thank you for the important work you do to keep everything running smoothly.

Dr. Erenberg, a radiologist at both Louise Marshall and Palmerston and District Hospital, is retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. Over the years, he’s been more than a skilled radiologist, he’s been a trusted colleague, mentor, and steady presence within the Diagnostic Imaging team.

Dr. Erenberg is known for being approachable, collaborative, and always willing to share his expertise, and has made a lasting impact through his commitment to teaching, patient care, and supporting those around him.

Please join us in wishing Dr. Erenberg all the best as he begins his next chapter!

Our North Wellington physicians and nurses continue to build and maintain their neonatal skills through Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) training, using simulation to practice intubation and resuscitation and stay ready to care for newborns when it matters most.

This Dietitians Day, we’re honouring the dedication and impact of dietitians across Canada. Across our alliance sites, our five Registered Dietitians (RDs) support recovery, chronic disease management, and Diabetes Education with practical, evidence-based care, because good nutrition is foundational to treatment and lifelong wellbeing.

Cara, one of our RDs at Louise Marshall Hospital, shares that her journey began as a teenager exploring vegetarianism and discovering a passion for balanced nutrition, along with cooking, baking, and eating!

Her key message? Add to your meals, don’t just restrict. Focus on adding fibre, protein, colour, and balance to promote nourishment, not limitation.

Meet Sierra, one of our Registered Pharmacy Technicians!

Sierra, along with her colleagues, play a vital part in patient care, helping prepare medications, supporting clinical decisions, and making sure every patient receives safe, accurate, and timely treatment.

This month, we join Pharmacists CAN, a national campaign by the Canadian Pharmacists Association, highlighting how pharmacists and pharmacy teams are trusted, educated professionals who go beyond dispensing medications, they provide care that truly makes a difference.
