(*Updated*) AGNEW, Beverley Wayne “Bev” - Of Mount Forest, passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday January 8, 2026 at the age of 77.

Loving “step-father” to Shiela (Wayne) McLean, Charlene (Grant) Stewart, and Ed (Gloria) Wilson. Grandpa to Tim McLean (Kristina), Christina Lancaster (Kegan), Cody Stewart, Justin Stewart, Tyler Stewart (Alex), Josh Wilson, and Jake Wilson (Maddie). Great-Grampa to Owen, Alexis, Merrick, Ezra, Adelaide, Chloe, Tyson, and Oliver. Bev is survived by his sister Doris Jarvis, brother Donald Agnew, and sister-in-law Helen Agnew. A Special “Uncle Pete” to several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his wife Patricia Agnew (2019), infant granddaughter Angela McLean, siblings Lois, Milton, Clayton, Betty, Audrey, Doreen, Ross, Wallace, Shirley, and Islay.

Bev was known for his athletic skills on the ice - playing broomball with the Conn Men and Hopeville, and refereeing for many years in Mount Forest and Dundalk. He enjoyed playing baseball for Hopeville, hunting, fishing and many golf trips to the sunny south. Bev was a familiar face around MapleFest for many years, helping with the WWI Biscuit Hut. He loved a good road trip, long or short, to tour around and see the countryside or the always necessary trip to Costco – just because. After he started to experience some health issues, he still enjoyed a nice sunny day for a drive. Even if it was just to Tim Horton’s to get coffee or to go to Giant Tiger in Shelburne, his favourite store next to Costco. Bev also liked to “stir the pot” and get everyone going with a comment or two, but always with a twinkle in his eye.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bev’s life will be held on Saturday, April 25th from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 134, 140 King Street West, Mount Forest. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Woodland Springs Women’s Institute or a charity of your choice. Online condolences and donations may be made at

KEATES, Joanne Catherine - Passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Born on May 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. (O) Donovan and Ada Mary Quince. Survived by her sister Ada and was predeceased by her Donovan siblings, Terrence, Iris, John, Beth, Irene, Sally and Adele.

Born in Toronto, and raised on the Danforth, Mom moved to Parry Sound in the early 1960’s with her late husband Tom. It is where they raised three children: Brad (Joanne), Joanne (Ken) and Nick (Kate). She is remembered by her grandchildren, Matt, Laura, Jon, Fisher and great-grandchildren, Callie and Carter.

Joanne was a busy woman. After high school, in the 1950’s she worked as a teller and in the vault at the Dominion Bank at 1 King Street in Toronto. Joanne worked regularly for 30 years but she found her most comfortable role at Esprit Place (a women's and children's shelter) in Parry Sound. Later Joanne and Tom operated a bed and breakfast in Parry Sound for almost 10 years. Their children were welcome there at any time, as long as they booked ahead. Moves to Aurora and then Mount Forest followed. Mom made friends easily, and she kept herself very engaged.

Joanne loved gardening, gardening books, talking about gardening and watching gardening on TV. She was always interested in politics, would always seek your opinion on the news of the day, and would want to discuss her most recent or pending vacation trip with Tom.

Thank you to the wonderful staff in both Oncology and Palliative Care at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest. A special thank you to Dr. Dicu at WRHN. They were fantastic with Mom.

A celebration of Joanne’s life will be planned in the future. Those interested in making a donation in memory of Joanne are asked to consider the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation. Online condolences and donations may be made at

*UPDATED*

SINNAMON, Richard “Rick” - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Husband, Dad and Poppa, Richard Kenneth Sinnamon while vacationing with his family in Mexico on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Rick is survived by his wife Patty (née Grantham) of 44 years; sons Andrew (Bern) and Shawn (Megan) Sinnamon, and daughter Michelle Matheson (Andrew); and his seven grandchildren whom he loved so dearly: Nathaniel, Theo and Callum Sinnamon, Hunter and Rowan Sinnamon, and Kiera and Mackenzie Matheson. Rick was the eldest son of Robert (deceased) and Arlene Sinnamon. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Wayne (Nancy), Brock (Linda) and Brad, as well as sister-in-law Mary Jayne Gosnell (George). Rick will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members in Northern Ireland, and many dear friends.

Rick retired as a Staff Sergeant with the Ontario Provincial Police in 2012, having served in various detachments as well as the Contract Policing Branch over his 33-year career before retiring from the Grey Bruce Detachment in Chatsworth.

Rick wasn’t one to sit and watch the world go by – he got involved in his community in many organizations. He was an active member in Mount Forest Lions Club and previously Exeter Lions, and in 2011 was presented with a Melvin Jones Fellow award from Lions International, the highest honour given to a Lions Club Member. He was also a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mount Forest Branch 134.

He served on the Mount Forest Minor Hockey Executive for many years, and certainly long after Andrew and Shawn no longer played in the minor league. He served as the Ice Convenor for about 15 years. Rick was currently serving on the Mount Forest Patriots executive and loved cheering on the local team. One of his biggest accomplishments was his participation on the Mount Forest and District Sports Complex Building and Fundraising Committees, ensuring that Mount Forest had a new state of the art recreation facility for the community to enjoy for generations to come.

Rick co-chaired the Mount Forest District High School Parent Council along with his good friend Dave Moran at a time when the community faced having the school closed. He and Dave were instrumental in not only keeping the high school in Mount Forest, but having a brand-new school built, an effort that garnered his recognition as Mount Forest Citizen of the Year in 2000.

His community leadership didn’t stop there. He also served on the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation for several years including in the capacity as Chairman. In 2016 he served on the Wellington County Plowing Match Committee.

Above all of these wonderful accomplishments, his greatest joy was his family. He and Patty were blessed to travel extensively throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, Caribbean and the U.S. They also travelled to Ireland on several occasions to visit with Rick’s extended family. He was so very proud of his three children, and to add seven grandchildren to the family circle was beyond anything he imagined. He beamed so proudly at every one of Kiera’s dance recitals and attended countless hockey, lacrosse, baseball and soccer games to watch his grandsons play. Spending time at the cottage in Severn Bridge meant quality time with family. He loved to anchor the boat on Lake Couchiching or Sparrow Lake and jump in with the kids.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6th from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Mount Forest & District Sports Complex, 850 Princess Street, Mount Forest, where the celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, March 7th at 11:00 a.m. Following, all are invited to remain at the hall for refreshments and fellowship. Spring interment at Mount Forest Cemetery. If you are unable to attend the service in person, you are invited to view livestream by visiting the funeral home website and clicking on the link below Rick’s obituary.

Memorial donations may be made to Mount Forest United Church, Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, or a local minor sports organization of your choice. Donations and online condolences may be made at
