This week, members of the O’Donel High School Response Team in Mount Pearl took part in a hands-on first aid training session with SJA instructor Dan Maher. The group brought great enthusiasm and plenty of thoughtful questions throughout the session. Each participant had the opportunity to practice essential skills, building both confidence and competence.

It’s inspiring to see such a dedicated group of young responders committed to learning and helping others. Well done to all involved!

Today is Good Samaritan Day!

A reminder that helping someone in need can make a real difference. In Canada, the Good Samaritan principle encourages people to step in during an emergency without fear of legal consequences, provided they act responsibly and within their training. Even small, timely actions, like calling for help, providing basic first aid, or staying with someone until help arrives, can save lives. Be prepared, know your limits, and remember: doing something is always better than doing nothing.
