Do you have foot pain? Hip pain? Lower back pain??

In less than 24 hours two of my amazing clients (I think we are friends now too 😆) sent me this podcast. This was months ago, but it has now risen up from the depths of my saved things to share, and what appropriate timing!

Next week we are heading into my Hips, Knees & Feet series where we address foot function; strengthening and releasing. We put into action what this podcast describes!

Even if you just watch a bit of the podcast day by day and slowly implement some of the recommendations like; foot rolling, toe spacers, wide toed flat shoes, MOVEMENT your aches will start to go away and you will feel better with time.

Of course you can always enroll in my class too 🤔 😄

My Tuesday, back care series does include some foot care but it’s the Thursday, Hips, Knees & Feet where we really get in there.

So now when I have you standing in Mountain pose becoming aware of your arches, toe connection and pelvis (shoulders, neck, head….) you may think, “ah ha!! This is why we do this!”

All of last week I was teaching in Playa del Carmen for a Canadian company, NRG2GO. I have been teaching for them since 2009 and have taught in so many places like; Cuba, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Now that I am back and reflecting a little I can see how much these travel teaches have helped me grow as an instructor as well as initiated internal growth.
When you do these teaches you work with the entertainment staff at the location you are teaching. They give you more of a local perspective on how things are in their worlds and their country. I love hearing about their lives and their views. I have learned to listen more and learned Spanish to communicate more. I even grew a huge passion for salsa music and began to learn how to follow and lead while dancing. On a few occasions I have been invited over to their family homes for dinner and celebrations. I have been taken out of my comfort zone many a time. So I have learned to be flexible and creative in how I teach and where I teach, because you never know when a tropical rain storm may pass through!

Yoga Therapy for Back Care
Tuesdays, March 10th - April 14th
7:15-8:30 pm

Back Care yoga therapy focuses on the core-4; diaphragm, pelvis, deep abdominal and deep back muscles while focusing on regulating your nervous system. By moving slowly with breath you can work within your daily capacity with increased awareness of your needs.

Yoga Therapy for Hips, Knees and Feet
Thursdays, March 12th - April 16th
7:15-8:30 pm

In this class we look at nourishing and gently building stability into our hips, knees and feet by drawing awareness to our fascial lines and keeping the nervous system zen. Each class will involve foot care and myofascial release.

Yoga therapy is trauma informed and is accessible for all levels.
Yoga therapy is for every body!

Both classes are in person or online (Zoom) and each class is recorded and emailed out after the class. So you will never miss a session and can practice throughout the series on your own.

Hola a todos! Rahim & I have transitioned from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen. We are safe and well!
We hope that the state of Jalisco and surrounding areas/states return to calm and peace.

I am teaching yoga and aqua classes for a Canadian company I have been working with for over 17 years. However, yesterday marks my first class where I taught in Spanish!
I had to have a little laugh because 16 years ago I was teaching in Costa Rica and barely anyone spoke english. Each night I would desperately study my little book of Spanish so that I could teach more coherently. 😂
This began my journey of learning a new language. I am not fluent, but I have full conversations and understand more and more each time I travel.

I meant to post this the other day! Rahim came home with this little gift from a patient. Apparently they wanted to make my logo as well before they realized we now have the same logo ☺️
I just love it. 🥰
It is now hanging in the kitchen until we find a nice way to hang it in the home office.

Both will take place at the 170 Bird Sanctuary Drive- Nanaimo Yoga Sanctuary or on Zoom.

Both classes show ways to lubricate, nourish and stabilize your joints. If you are looking for a gentle pathway to connecting with your body, breath, mind and nervous system these classes are ideal.
