from Latin aequilībrium, from aequi-equi- + lībra pound, balance means
The condition in which all acting influences are balanced or cancelled by equal opposing forces, resulting in a stable system. Equilibrium Personal trainer and active rehab was born from the desire of being able to offer a non competitive safe environment where everyone: Athletes, novice to fitness, healthy or injured could safely improve and reach their goals. Our small and intimate studio has everything you need to accomplish your objective but we are also a mobile Personal trainer as we understand that for some clients the key to succeed is to be working out from the comfort of their homes. As of September 13, 2021, the BC government has indicated that patrons' of what have been defined as certain "non-essential" businesses must provide proof of vaccination in order to enter/receive service. Gyms, exercise facilities/studios and recreational facilities based will be required to check the vaccination status of those attending these facilities. You must have at least one dose of covid-19 vaccine, and by October 24, you must be fully vaccinated to access non essential services.

Kinesiologist services in private facilities, like Equilibrium, can fall under both, essential post / pre rehab services such as health/medically based treatment referred by medical professionals (physician, physiotherapist, OT) or ICBC claim; and non essential such as Personal trainer.

As such, starting Monday all clients 19 years or older, please be prepared to show your Vaccine Card. Youth 12 to 18 are not required to show proof of vaccination for indoor recreational sports, so for now I will extend this to the studio.

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know, for more information from the Province of British Columbia on COVID-19 and the Vaccine Card, please see https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/response.

Hi everyone, today’s BC health authorities announcements do not affect equilibrium as our work is 1 on 1. If you travelled outside the island please reschedule your appointment or move it to online.
Telehealth is still a great option and the preferred option for some clients right now.
Please make sure you do a health check before your in person appointment and If you present any symptom reschedule it or do Telehealth.

Do you check nutrition labels? Here are some changes in US products’ labels

You may have noticed that the nutrition labels on your favorite foods have recently received an upgrade. Here's what you need to know:
1. Serving sizes have a new large, bold font
2. Calories are now in larger and bolder font
3. Calories from Fat have been removed
4. The percent Daily Value (%DV) for nutrients has been updated
5. "Added Sugars" have been added
6. Vitamin D and Potassium have been added

Get the info on these changes and what has stayed the same in the latest from the ACSM Certification blog: http://ow.ly/wWap50DjEtq

We are in the last days of 2020 and this was a different year for sure, many online sessions since March (most sessions are still online), mask wearing, 6 feet apart and tons of cleaning. I have done post rehab without seeing a client in person, and I have met new clients I have never seen without a mask. I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you. I really appreciate your support, and trust.
The studio is closed for winter break until January 03rd. I wish a healthy and happy 2021 to all of you.

Hi everyone I just noticed that an update here is overdue. Since end of May I am doing "hybrid care" , a combination of in-studio care and virtual care (Telehealth). Clients who prefer online sessions can do that, it works well for many people, for those who prefer to come to the studio, a variety of measures to ensure the health and safety of both clients and myself were implemented. These include: social distancing; mandatory PPE (mask), stringent cleaning guidelines. You can also do both, some sessions online and some in the studio. Also, part of my equipment can't be shared, elastic bands for instance, so you should bring your own.

If you are not sure about Telehealth here is one of my clients experience:

“I was not sure if it would work for me to do online sessions. It turns out doing on-line training sessions are awesome!

Simone is knowledgeable, innovative, and very intuitive with my form and technique (she can even tell when I'm tensing up!)

I look forward to our on-line sessions and I am grateful to have the guidance and motivation for my goals.” Julie Stewart

Covid 19 Update

Hi everyone, a quick update to say that although gyms are opening during phase 2, Kinesiologists are not approved by WSBC to start working on Phase 2 yet. Our association is negotiating with the Ministry of Health for reconsideration of their decision to not allow
Kinesiologists to return to in-person work during phase 2.

I am still offering Telehealth for clients that are interested, and will continue to offer during Phase 2 and 3 of BC restart plan.
(it will be around for some time to come - even after a return to in-person services).

While we wait I am reviewing all the BCCDC Infection Prevention and Control and the WSBC guidelines for returning to safe operation.

The health and safety of every client, and my own is my highest priority so during this time I am working on the necessary changes in the studio space, ordered protective equipment to ensure a safe reentry into this "new normal".

I will keep everyone posted. Keep moving, I miss you.

As many of us start to get ready to re open. British Columbians are being asked to complete a survey to help health authorities manage COVID-19 pandemic consequences moving forward. The survey takes 10 to 15 min.

B.C. has flattened the curve and we are preparing to carefully re-start services, the economy and our lives. Your input is important as we develop our action plans.
