Central Drugs has been operating since 1892. We currently have seven locations in the Nanaimo area, all locally owned and operated by pharmacists.

Having been Nanaimo's homegrown pharmacy for the past 125 years, we're extremely proud of the legacy that we've established. We're even more proud about our mission today - creating healthy relationships one patient at a time. Using our Pharmacy First approach, we chose to operate Central Drugs with you in mind. This means incorporating numerous customer-centric services, features, and protocols - including having more pharmacists on staff per location than any other pharmacy in town. Locations:

To ensure we can provide the best possible customer care when you need it most, we are updating the pharmacy hours at our Lantzville location.

New Operating Hours (Effective December 1st):

Monday – Friday: 9am to 5pm

We believe this adjustment will allow us to staff more effectively and maintain our high standards of service during peak times.

We will continue to review customer needs and staffing capacity to serve you best.

🌿 Supporting Community Wellness 🌿

On October 15th, Central Drugs Pharmacist and Owner Kylee Power was honoured to be welcomed by the Snaw-Naw-As people to participate in their Fall Health Fair.

Kylee showcased a range of items available at no cost for those with Plan Wellness coverage, helping to improve access and remove barriers to care in the community.
