Golf injuries are way more common than most people think, and the science explains why. 🏌️‍♂️

A single swing puts huge forces through your back, hips, and shoulders. Add repetition, tight mobility, or technique faults and things start to break down fast.

The good news? With the right strength work, mobility training, and smart coaching, golfers can play longer, swing stronger, and reduce their injury risk.

If your back, hip, or shoulder pain is stopping you from enjoying your game, we can help you get back on the course feeling confident and powerful.

Dancers are some of the most hardworking athletes out there, and their bodies go through way more than most people realize. From ankle sprains to hip pain, the injuries we see in the clinic often come from the same things: high training loads, repetition, and pushing your body to its limits to perfect every move.

The good news? Most dance injuries are preventable with the right strength, control, and recovery routine. And when something does hurt, the right rehab can get you back on stage with confidence.

Whether you are dealing with ankle sprains, knee pain, Achilles issues, stress fractures, or hip irritation, our team can help you move safer and stronger.

Big shoutout to the for swinging by the clinic today! 🏒🔥
Always great connecting with you fellas.

We’re proud to continue supporting the team this season and to be a home base for treatment, recovery, and keeping you sharp through the grind. The Steelmen program has become something special over the past couple of years — giving local guys who played junior, college, or pro a chance to stay fit, stay competitive, and keep playing high-level senior hockey right here in Nanaimo.

Wishing the entire squad a healthy, successful season ahead. Let’s go, Steelmen! 💪⚒️🏒

Postpartum recovery doesn’t end at your 6-week checkup 💙

Your body is still healing, rebuilding, and adjusting for months after giving birth — and that’s completely normal. Research shows recovery of muscles, ligaments, and fascia continues for up to a year!

This season of healing isn’t about “bouncing back.” It’s about rebuilding strength, restoring confidence, and giving your body the care it deserves. 🌿

If you’re ready to move, feel strong, and reconnect with your body, we’re here to help you every step of the way.

Your pelvic floor isn’t just a group of muscles — it’s part of your body’s stress response system.

When you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly “on,” your muscles can hold tension even when you’re not moving.

Over time, that can lead to pain, urgency, or difficulty letting go.

Evidence shows that people with higher stress levels often have increased resting pelvic floor activity on EMG.

(Lackner et al., 2018)

The good news?

You can retrain this system.

✅ Breathing that syncs your diaphragm and pelvic floor

✅ Mindful movement and relaxation

✅ Pelvic physiotherapy focused on release, not just strengthening

Your body isn’t broken — it’s reacting.

We just have to help it feel safe to let go again.

🍁 It’s Fall Prevention Month, and whether you’re an athlete training hard or simply staying active day-to-day — balance, strength, and stability matter.

Falls don’t just happen to “older adults.”

They can occur in anyone — from missed steps during a run to fatigue after a workout or a slippery floor at home.

📊 Research shows up to 1 in 3 adults experience a fall each year, but the good news is: most falls are preventable.

(Sherrington et al., Br J Sports Med, 2020)

Here’s how to build a more resilient body 👇

✅ Strength train regularly — strong legs and hips protect your balance

✅ Practice single-leg or balance exercises

✅ Review your footwear and environment

✅ Prioritize recovery and flexibility

✅ If you’ve had a fall or close call, get a fall-risk or movement assessment with your physio or chiro

At Advanced Health + Sports Clinic, we help every mover — from athletes to active adults — stay strong, confident, and in control of their movement.

💙 Balance is strength. Stability is performance. Prevention starts now.

We’re thrilled to announce that Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy is now available again at Advanced Health + Sports Clinic:

✨ Now Available: Danielle Roberts — Norwell (Nanaimo)

We’re so pleased to resume offering this important service to the Nanaimo and Parksville communities — helping women and men take control of their pelvic health, movement, and confidence.

• Bladder leakage or urgency

• Pelvic or low back pain

• Pain with intimacy
