I provide play therapy for children, as well as counselling for parents to address concerns in behavior and relationship with their children. We also specialize in providing support for navigating blended family dynamics.

Hugo has a full day as a therapy dog in training, he cuddled, he snuggled, he patiently played baby in the tent and overall had great manners ❤️ weekly training is paying off!!

While its not a glamorous photo, today Hugo had a trial run of being a part of 2 sessions, he was invited to participate in the birthday celebration and was given cake, the good boy that he is he knew not to actually eat it which I very much appreciated! Way to engage in pretend play Hugo!

October 2017, 8 years ago, I took a huge leap and opened Blossom Tree Counselling. Over the last 8 years a lot has changed! At the start it was just me, my kids were 2 & almost 4 and I arranged my schedule around their preschool. Now they’re 10 & almost 12! This Thanksgiving weekend I’m grateful for so many things, I’m grateful for my husband for supporting me through the career change and leap into the unpredictable world of private practice, I’m grateful for my kids who’ve had less of me at times due to schedule and stress, I’m grateful to all my clients who’ve trusted me to be with them during their most vulnerable moments in life, im grateful to Erin, Kristen, Emma, Natalie, Kathleena, Sheryl, Megan H and Justine to work with me during their practicum and create this special space. And I’m grateful for being brave to take the jump that I did!

Don’t let the sleepy guy fool you, while he is currently sleeping under my desk while I do all the fun behind the scenes admin work, he spent the first 45 minutes finding everything under the sun that could potentially cause an intestinal blockage or kill him.
- Old yogurt container? Yum!
- Walnuts from the walnut tree - sure! Let’s eat those!
- Some random rag from who knows where - let me at it!!!

He’s a sweet guy but you can’t tak your eyes of him for 1 second!! He has had a few in office with client sessions, and thankfully puppy teeth are falling out now so the mouthy biting phase is way way less.

Well, we've been fairly quiet over the summer but now that school is back and fall is right around the corner, the time is right to re-emerge and connect! We are so pleased to have Sheryl and Megan stay on now that they have completed their practicum. We must be doing something right if everyone that completes a practicum wants to stay! We have grown to a group of 8!! Here's a little snippet of everyone and we'll be sharing more in depth over the coming days.

We are accepting referrals! Justine Birchell has recently joined us to start her practicum, and is able to see youth ages 7 and up as well as COUPLES! As Justine is completing her practicum, her rates are reduced to $60 or less depending on one's circumstances. She has availability in the office on Sunday's, as well as online on Wednesday and evenings throughout the week.

Hugo update! Hugo is attending weekly puppy socialization classes, and is participating in crate training and learning his manners. He’s still not quite ready to be at the office yet, he has very sharp teeth and is still in that bitey shark phase but is getting better. He LOVES food, so training is going really well! I’ve been following Susan Garret’s podcast and YouTube channel and implementing all the games, he’s doing amazing. Hugo wants to please and we’re excited to see how he develops!!

Future emotional support pup coming to Blossom Tree!
Megan is bringing this sweet boy home next week ❤️ my hope is that is sweet nature combined with regular and consistent training will lead him to being an amazing comfort pup for those needing it in the office!
I will be discussing allergies and comfort level with his presence with my clients individually as we navigate this new addition and adjust accordingly. Looking forward to seeing the connections he makes!
