Oh My Aching Feet!!!!

We have all noticed lumps or bumps in the tissue of the plantar aspect of our clients feet, usually during massage.

These fibrous collagen nodules are called plantar fibromas and are embedded in the plantar facsia.

They can develop in one or both feet and are usually benign but do not go away or get smaller without treatment.

Orthotics or cushioned insoles can help your client with comfort measures along with proper fitting shoes to avoid changes in gait from pain.

Consider using Eastern massage techniques such as shiatsu, reflexology or a kansa wand to avoid direct pressure to the fibroma, help restore proper energy flow and reduce pain.

Further medical intervention may be required if mass increases in size or pain.
