When the community welcomed a live band to perform for their monthly community concert, Gina didn’t just enjoy the music – she made a new friend in the band’s pianist. The two connected over their shared love of music, talked about tips and techniques, and Gina even got the chance to show off her new skills at the end of the show.

Meet Barbara and Eric, who met when Barbara moved into Atria Forest Hills six months ago. They first connected through our Atria Resident Ambassador program. Eric showed Barbara around the community and invited her to activities. Their friendship blossomed through natural conversations and sharing their interests.

Barbara shares, “This friendship says to me how beautiful it is to meet someone at my age and immediately bond.” Eric adds, “We both enjoy making friends. It’s like a ray of sunshine.”

"It was great," beams Norman. "We saw a lot of animals and it was nice to be able to pet some of them!" His favorite of them all? "Oh, I liked seeing the big turtles the most."

The Olympic torch was lit, and the games were played! We celebrated in style from the start of the Winter Olympics to the closing ceremony. Residents gathered to cheer on their favorite teams, waving flags and sharing in the international excitement. "As a server, I look forward to going to work every morning, and I take pride in providing meals to our residents," shares Rosie, a waitstaff team member at Atria Park of Vintage Hills. "I also enjoy talking with the residents, discussing things like their past careers and family. The residents love talking about their lives. Their faces light right up."

Hospitality team members like Rosie are so important in providing a great experience for residents. "I love when residents come to the door to the kitchen to say thank you and goodbye," Rosie adds. "It's a nice feeling to know that I was able to provide an enjoyable dining experience for the residents. Actually, it doesn't even feel like work. It feels like family."

We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make our recent sale such a meaningful success. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our residents, their families, and the wider community, we raised over $700 in support of an initiative that truly matters. This achievement would not have been possible without your kindness, encouragement, and belief in the cause.

Every contribution—whether through purchasing items, donating, or simply spreading the word—brings us one step closer to our shared goal: supporting a seniors-only emergency room. Our seniors deserve care that is compassionate, specialized, and designed with their unique needs in mind. Making this vision a reality will be our focus throughout the year.

This sale is just the beginning. We have several fundraising events planned in the months ahead and will continue to create opportunities for our community to come together in support of this important cause. For those who wish to contribute at any time, donations are always welcome and deeply appreciated.

This cause is close to the heart, because our seniors deserve care that is compassionate, dignified, and designed with their unique needs in mind, especially in moments of vulnerability and crisis.

By taking part in this sale, you are helping create a safer, more understanding emergency experience for the people who paved the way for us. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure our seniors receive the respect, patience, and specialized care they deserve when they need it most. Each box is $10.00.
