With all the news in the world today and how it is affecting our mental well-being, I encourage you to focus on what you can control, instead of being eaten up by what is feeling disparaging, unjust, and horrific. I’m not saying turn a blind eye or shut out what is happening, but know you have more power than you realize. Know that how you react to situations is within your power.

Kindness is not a weakness. So many people think it’s weak, yet it is extremely powerful. Truly kind people are self-regulated, confident in who they are, self-aware and compassionate. To bring more of this into the world will, in fact, breed more content. Our innate state of being is joy. It is up to us as individuals to uncover that state of being - yes, even in these challenging times. - My soapbox rant for today. — Don’t let them steal your joy or dim your light. Feel the feels, and go hug someone you love hard today.

The true journey of an empath isn’t about fixing others; it’s about coming home to themselves. It’s about understanding that their need to fix, please, give, and compensate are survival mechanisms that prevent them from seeing who actually needs saving versus who doesn’t.

It is about learning that love doesn’t mean losing yourself, and peace doesn’t mean people-pleasing. It means standing tall in your truth, even if it means standing alone because this is when an empath becomes truly empowered—when they learn to use the power of discernment to stand their ground and not let the world take advantage of their sensitivity.

“As has been said, it is so hard to put into words the incredible experiences I’ve received during my Reiki sessions with Shannon. Putting aside the awesomeness of Shannon alone, she possesses and incredible healing ability through her practice. I have never turned down the opportunity to add Reiki to many treatments over the years and each time has been different.

I leave feeling emotionally sober, grounded spiritually and extremely relaxed. I have spent years trying to diminish my gifts, refrain from getting involved in any “difficult conversations” and always wanting to find peace or harmony — to the detriment of sacrificing my own feelings and opportunities for advancement or even to pursue my dreams. No more. I have finally reached a place of self respect and self love that I won’t compromise my truth for peace any longer. It’s taken a lot of courage.

It’s not selfish to want to be your best for the greater good. It’s not selfish to stand up for your core values. It’s not selfish to want a better future and pursue your hearts desire. 💕

It’s ok to feel frustrated, angry or irritated if you’re being taken advantage of, undervalued or recognizing that you’re not being appreciated. (This is often not a YOU PROBLEM btw).

Remembering to shine anyway, to seek your full potential in places that support your vision for your life, and team play are imperative to your growth and success in life.

It has taken me years to come to this knowing! But now that I’m here, I am ready for the opportunity to shine my light in new ways that will help others to shine too.
