Doula availability is open for a limited number of families this year.

My mission is to guide women and their partners toward the most positive birth experience possible—regardless of plans, expectations, or how the journey unfolds. I hold space, use the tools available, squeeze hips, pray with you, and remind you that you can do this, even when it feels impossible.

I’m taking on fewer clients so I can give more time and energy to each family, while also prioritizing my own family and farm life.

If you don’t see your birth month listed, reach out anyway—sometimes things just work out. And if I’m not the right fit, I’m always happy to help you find or build the support you need.

From the moment I met Auburn, I felt it. Our paths felt aligned in ways that are hard to explain: becoming partners to kind, hardworking farmers, navigating motherhood with fierce love, and still feeling a little lost along the way. She carries a depth of grace and strength that quietly fills a room.

Leaning into the unknown and welcoming two beautiful boys was no small journey. Supporting you through twin pregnancy and birth was truly an honour — and a powerful learning experience.

I’m so grateful our lives crossed when they did. These are the connections that stay with you — the ones you carry forward, even when schedules don’t often align. 🤍

2025 reminded me that birth is rarely what we expect.
I’m deeply grateful to the families who trust me to be present for such important moments.

Some births this year were especially challenging and stretched me in new ways. They also reinforced how powerful teamwork is. I’m thankful to have met & worked alongside incredible nurses at SHC and my home team at High River Hospital, supporting families through every path labour and birth took.

A special shout-out to the dads this year — especially a few first-timers who truly stepped up. One referred to himself “The Dude-la.” and he earned it.

Birth is a wild ride.

High River Hospital Becomes First Donor Milk Dispensary in Alberta

Calgary, AB – NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank is pleased to announce that High River Hospital, a Baby Friendly designated facility, is now the first hospital in Alberta to act as a dispensary for safe, pasteurized donor human milk. This important milestone builds on the success of NorthernStar’s pilot project at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, where families have benefited from accessible donor milk during critical times.

The availability of donor milk at High River Hospital provides a critical option for families when breastfeeding is not possible or when a mother’s own milk is delayed. Donor milk offers essential support in situations including:

- Bridging the gap while waiting for a mother’s milk supply to establish.
- Supporting mothers with delayed milk production, particularly those with diabetes.
- Providing a safe alternative when mothers are unwell or unable to breastfeed.

"The addition of a donor milk dispensary at High River Hospital aligns perfectly with our mission to provide every baby with the best possible start," said Jannette, Executive Director of NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank. "We are proud to partner with High River Hospital to ensure families have access to safe and pasteurized donor milk when they need it most."

Families can now purchase donor milk directly at High River Hospital, offering a convenient and reliable source of nutrition for their babies. The initiative also supports maternal mental health by reducing anxiety for parents during the early postpartum period.

The pilot project at Foothills Hospital has shown promising results, demonstrating the positive impact of donor milk availability on infant health and family well-being. NorthernStar Mothers Milk Bank looks forward to sharing these results once the study is published.
